Hello,

I have a used MS200 which is probably not even broken in. Currently I run the 12 inch bar and it is fun to fell and cut small trees with it. However what is the reasonable largest bar size on 3/8 chain one can use. The Stihl page tells something like 18 inch but that seems to be way too much for me. Anyone has experience to share?

Best regards
Christian

I run 14" bars on both my 200T's and Echos.

With no other mod but removing the exhaust baffle/screens, 14" is a good power match.

I run 12" on my 020 and 14" on the Echo350T.

And the reason why I use a 12" bar on the 020 is because I also have a Stihl HT75 pole pruner with the same bar and everything interchanges.

And the reason why I use a 14" bar on the top handled Echo is because I use it exclusively for palms and the Echo has enough grunt to pull that 14" thru most palms ... it doesn't do the same with our hardwood eucs though. That's when the 020 steps in.
