I dropped one of my 200t's off at a shop just down the road from here last week.It would hardly stay running.I don't normally deal with this shop, but did not have the time to go all the way to the shop I use.I do much of my wrenching myself, but just didn't have the time...Here is my question, hopefully one of you tech guys will see this and can help me out.He said that the crank bearing seals were bad on this saw, which made sense,it had to be sucking air from somewhere..He said it would be $250.00 to fix it.Does this seem right? If that is what I'm looking at,I'm going to just spring for a new saw and use that one for parts.I am just curious to know if he's yanking my chain.

That is what he thought is was when I first dropped it off,but for changing the crank seals....does that price seem right? He was going to replace the boot while he had it apart anyway.

Just had the seals on one of my 200's replaced last week.Seals were 10 something each and labor was 1 hr.

You don't need to take the saw "to pieces" to replace the seals. $250 is very high for just that...

The boot is in an entirely different place (just partialy take off the handle assy) and takes maybe 20-30 minutes to replace including test and adjust as requried.

Thanks guys....I'm gonna go and snatch my saw from this guy and take it to the folks I usually deal with
