Hi everyone - New member here (nice site). I have a fairly new MS310, I decided to adjust the bar oiler to Max position the other day & noticed that the adjuster "screw" will spin around & around if you keep turning it, in other words, there's no stoppers. Is this normal ?? Should I take it back to the dealer, or will it be OK as long as I stop the screw on the setting I want ?? Thanks !!

Thanks for the info - that's very strange that the casing stop is busted. I bought the saw brand new & I only tried adjusting the screw once with a tiny little screwdriver that would fit down in the hole, certainly wasn't cranking on it & it just spun all the way around ??? Anyhow - I will take it back & hopefully they take care of it for me.

Yes, I'm almost positive they'll "take care of it" alright. Make sure you post back here and tell us what they say and how much it costs you.

I'm almost positive you'll hear something like the already posted comment from a Stihl dealer:

"Someone has really reefed on the screw and busted the casing stop on the oil pump..."

And 3 guesses who your Stihl dealer is going to think that "someone" is?

Anyways, I hope I'm wrong. But in either case let us know exactly what happens, please.

You are an ass... you don't hope you're wrong at all, in fact, you are desperately wishing for the opposite.:notrolls2:

I see you're as clueless as usual. Let's just see how the fine Stihl dealer backs his product and treats this customer.

So what are you going to do if the dealer fixes the problem? I have some frozen crow from last year somewhere... but then you're probably sick of that.

I'm not making accusations, but I wouldn't put it past Sap to post under new usernames with fake stories. He's pretty much proved he's obsessed enough to do such things. . .

Hey, that's a good idea! But give him credit - he probably bought a STIHL MS310 and deliberately broke the screw. Never can be too careful if you're obsessed and paranoid.

LOL! Oh yes...every story you read about someone having trouble with a Stihl dealer or saw is me posting "fake stories" "under new user names". BWAHHAhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

What a rube.

That's a strawman if I've ever heard one, your sappiness.

What we see here is you guys attempting to CYA because we all know how this one is going to turn out....as we've seen it time and time again on this site, most recently the guy with the new blown 066. This guy is going to have to pay to repair his saw out-of-pocket. No warranty coverage. You know that, I know that, and soon this guy will know that too.

And if he doesn't have to pay? I'll be as happy as you guys that he didn't get shafted. But no worries....there's always the next time with Stihl :)

You need to work on your lying Sap. Remember--earlier today, wasn't it--you gave a negative reaction to a positive Stihl dealer story?

Refresh my memory? Your definition of 'negative' may not be the same as mine.

If you break your mouse by pressing too hard; no Sap, I'm not going to give you another one for free.

LOL! That's not "negative", that's a fact.....of course big customers such as a saw mill get better service than a little guy. Dude!...you really are a rube!

The two are not mutually exclusive. Facts can be arranged in a way that is negative. That's a fact Sappy.

Rube? Coming from you, I thank you for the compliment.
