Try the new synthetic bar oil. It heaps runnier.

Sounds worth a try, sticky molasses and sawdust does seem like a recipe for gunky paste!

I like the off brand oils better than stihl. It's half the price and is thinner. It works as good or better running through an aux oiler milling.

Have you had the clutch drum off while cleaning the saw?
If so, it's very easy to not get the rod end of the worm drive back into the corresponding notch in the clutch drum. Mine was worn just enough to slip inside the drum. It would oil at idle , and a little at working speed , but not enough to properly lube the chain.
14 bucks later and a New oil pump worm drive ,it oiled properly.
