Some of the competitions I've been to only allowed "antique" cross cut's to be pulled.
I've got an old single buck saw, but it's an M tooth. I've got an old Simonds (spelling??) double buck that's a Peg & Raker, about a 6 footer. I resurected both of them. Sharpening them isn't rocket science.....it's more of an art. I'll sharpen my antiques, but I won't get near my Jim Taylor 4 cutter with a file. I'm not that artistic.
Don't worry about your arms getting big pulling your new saw. They will get defined, but your shoulders and pec's will grow pulling it.
Get it cleaned up and sharp, they are as much fun as they are work.
