Nice job N.E. on the job and video. I also like the choice of music. It seemed to go with the slides very well. It was a nice view.

TheTreeSpyder did the video. :)

I just did the job.

Tieing in

You are correct sir, I forgot about the friction device that may be used to tie in from the cable. Its been a few years since I studied for my Hoisting license. The fact is I have never seen nor heard of a climber using either method to tie in; the boom tip or a friction device from the cable. Tyeing into the hook is always how we have done it for years. So I guess i agree with Ne tree's comments on OSHA compliance.
Anyways, that Job was in our backyard, pretty cool. We use Astro when the tree is to large for our crane, or if the set up requires for more stick. Astros 50 ton and the 60 ton are both great cranes for tree jobs, and their operators have a ton of experience. There are only a couple companies that do crane work in the Worcester area so i can see why no one wanted to touch the job. Mass electric is usually pretty good about sleeving the wires, that sucks they were a day late, I probably would have waited on doing the job, climbing around a primary is just way to scary for me, especially with a crane involved. Thats when an aerial lift comes in real handy. But regardless you ate it up man, nice work!!
