Howdy-
It's highly unlikely you'll ever find a 48" bar that uses any kind of .050 gauge chain. Even 36" bars in that gauge are rare. I wouldn't recommend using 3/8" pitch with a 48" bar for any kind of falling or bucking. .404" cuts a wider kerf and makes a long bar like more accurate.

This is the clients wishes
Arms get sore when after climbing 50 feet in the air.
Want it as lightweight as can be.
I can get 36 inch .050
Cannot find 42 or 48 inch 3/8 .050 so probably recommend a roller nose or just get one and replace the tip.
Could go to a custom shop in Oregon or Cannon.

I was just going to say that both Oregon or Cannon will make it, the wait may be longer with Oregon though.
