Coming from you and Tom this is all credible!!!

But if I say it (I did) it is just my inexperiance and is dismissed as bull crap or that it really doesn't help.

My only problem with the 'top down' method is the limbs flipping over and winding up in the next county.

If you have plenty of room, it works great.

I rarely have 'plenty of room'. :p

Rich,
Let's not discourage the kid. He's got more potential than 98% of the people who wander through here. He's reminding me of myself back when I was starting out and knew everything. :p

I have the feeling Carl is going to be a very good Arborist one day. It's all good. :)

Point taken. Thanx, Rich.

Most definitely all good!:blob2:

Don't mean I don't understand physics tho.

Sometimes experiance can hold you back from accepting new things. Think outside the box, matter of fact where is the box.

About my know it all, I aint afraid to say whatever hairbrained idea I come up with. I also take everything yall say in and think bout it. Then I consider if it makes sense and respond. I like thinking outside the box, CPS (creative problem solving). I don't want yall to think that I am a know it all, but I don't accept things just because a hugely experianced arborsist says it, I gotta know why and how it works before I accept it.

Boody traps!
Yall gonna get a phile of limbs on top of each other and then booms that limb gonna explode in ya face at the touch of the saw. Imma tell ya these SRT dude aint on no production crw running 8 10 men putting down trees to feed 20 inch chippers by themselves.

when they do go to chunkin fire wood they prolly throw it up and over they head behind them and generally kick the wood like a hacky sack prolly they do . SRT. Bah.hehe:blob2:

Sorry about that no offence to you SRT folks.
No offence
But for a noob climber to even try and do this is very dangerous.
Very advanced and very technical tree work

It can be, but normally the limbs get knocked off by other limbs falling. When they get pilled on, I am above the limb, so I just reach down and relieve the limb with a little cut on the top. I aint a production crew by any means, but I get the job done in a timely manner.

No offense bout the SRT stuff taken. Have you ever used SRT, even if just for acending?

Yeah sure I a climbing machine. When I mobilized down at Fort stewart Georgia. We had a few afternoons off. Well you ever been to Georgia you know we got pines everywhere. So i took my climbing gear with me and sure enuff pines. Pines around the parade field of the 3rd ID. pines over the latrines pines over the barracks pines al around and over the rapelling towers.
I climbed up the tallest one I could find one afternoon. Right when us all gettin ready to hit our sand paper heavens(Barracks)
Some Sgt comes over yelling, "hey howd you git up there!" "come down from there thats dangerous!"
I yelled down " Well Sgt if you untie that rope there at the base Ill come down real fast." He took a drink of his beer looked at the running bowline at the base and said "whatever". and walked away.
I enjoyied the rest of the sights that even and later came down after the crowd got really big.
