New saw 4.5 to 5.5 hp

There's still more than one choice. Efco 962 is a good saw. So is the 357XP. But the only saw that is going to get you at least 4.5 Hp is the EFCO, and it is as light or lighter than the MS361.

The 357xp is rated at 4.4 hp everywere I think, so it is close. Lobo lives in Canada, and the 361 is rated at 4.6 hp everywere except in the USA (I think the muffler is the reason).
The 962 has not been tested by DLG, but the 56cc version weighted .1 kg more than the MS361. I think I have read complaints about the anti-wibe system and filtration on the Efco saws. I have never touched one, though.

Oh, I know, we are really into splitting hairs. The point is that there is quite a weight difference between the saws with about 4.5 hp, and those with closer to 5.5. You can get the weight of the stronger ones, without the power (6400, 365), but not the other way around.
Dolmar 7300 and 7900 has substansially more than 5.5 hp, without any weight penalty.

Just remember that all the tested saws are European versions......

Presently because of back problems WEIGHT.

However a mixture of both would be real nice.

Are you running the new 361 and if you are how is the air filtration on it ?

I am running a new 361, and thus far, it's been great. Haven't had the first problem with it yet. Though I have yet to run it during the dry, dusty summer months.

I have an 044 I love it, but I have to agree on 372 because they our dirt cheap right now,because ther phasing them out. I think baielys has the without bar and chain for 529? thats a steal.

I have a MS440 and I love it. I have run a friends 372, and it is a powerful quality saw. Both saws have a different feel to them.

I found this at Baileys. I think that's a great deal for the money.
