New User lookin for Help in Metro Detroit

Hello,

I picked up a Craftsman 3.7 Chainsaw 18" at a garage sale as is. Model 917.353770 I can't get it to start. There is spark. The compression seems good. I'm guessing it needs a carb cleaning. I am hoping that this forum has a kind soul in metro Detroit who would look at it for 20 minutes with me to show me what to look at next.

Rochester is a little far from westland.

look in the yellow pages.there is a saw shop near you but it has changed names.there one down near john r and eight mile.should be plenty in the sterling heights-utica area.stay away from weingartz.they suck.

if you need someone to look at it,i'd let them fix it as well.i personally wouldn't bother with a crapsman.
