Few more pics from around the Poulan GTG.
Brad's FIL was kind of the official fire tender, while the rest of us nuts were busy playing with saws.:)

Gregg,

Holy chips!:msp_ohmy:
Where's the snowblower:biggrin:
I can smell that Oak from here!

:ices_rofl: Your right. Damp Red Oak smells kinda like cow manure, and it kinda stays with ya for a while, when ya been covered in chips all day. But, I have smelled things a whole lot worse, and not nearly as fun!:msp_thumbup:

Gregg,

I like the smell of fresh cut wood.
I found that bottom land/swamp Oak, Cotton wood, Willow can be really stinky, especally if you come across a gusher tree.
Takes some time to get the smell out of clothes.

I used to like the smell of Cedar and Birch, until I worked at a rustic log furniture shop, now I can't stand the smell. It get's in your pores and you always smell like it.

Looks like you guys had a blast, and I would like to go some time.

I NEED one of those Poulan signs!:msp_thumbup:

If anyone ever want a big newer poulan pro sign...yellow and black with the saw on it, I can pick one up for 40 bucks, but shipping would be killer:(

Thats Cool and I'll keep you in mind.
It would be a cool addition to a shop/ mancave.

This is Steve running a 5200 bow saw.

This vid has really sold me on putting a bow on one of my 3400's when I get to them.
I was going to put one on just for display, or whatever, but after seeing this it would be ideal for firewood.
Looks to be very operator friendly.

That's my saw Steve is running, and its a strong 85cc 5200. You can put a bow on your 3400 but just don't expect it to cut anywhere like that.

:agree2: I have a 3400 here that I would have liked to bring just to demonstrate that they are a bit underpowered to pull a bow. Didn't have room. 60cc saw would be better and 70cc would be much better. If you have a strong runner you may be able to get by with it but you won't stand it up like that 5200. Listen to it pull the rpm's down when you do that.

My 5200 comes up short

Man, after seeing all those pics and vids of the 5200's with the long bars mine looks pretty short with a 20 incher. I got to thinking and I may order some of that Enzyte tonight and put it in the fuel mix if you guys think it'll work.

Great pics and videos of a lot of neat machines.

Looked like you all had a great time.

I wanted to Publicly Thank a couple of fellows at the GTG. The kindness and generosity of these Poulan guys never ceases to amaze me.

First off was Dean,(Igpoe). He handed me this real nice little Poulan 31, said its yours. I was speechless. Probably he had no use for it, cause it would look silly with a 5ft. bar & handle on it. :D I actually made some cuts with it Sat. in the cants. Might need a sundial to time it though. But, it ran great! Thanks again Dean!

Then there was my good buddy Steve,(67Mustang). At least I thought he was a good buddy.:D
Hands me this real nice black case, with a purple "WildThing" inside.:msp_sneaky: Just joking with ya Steve, I will cherish it.:ices_rofl: Thanks to both of you!!!

Tim, I found if you just run a 5200 with a big bar on it, it will take care of any "Enzyte" problem you might have.:ices_rofl::D

Gregg,

I've been to many places and enjoyed myself running saws, but this was a new experience for me. To share not only the love of saws, but the kindred spirit inherant in this particular group of individuals was something I hadn't been a part of until now. We've all heard " Where's the Love" and I can attest to have found it here in rural Ohio at the Blossers' homeplace. The physical effort to put on the GTG was amazing, but the attitudes seemed to be so genuine and effortless. A singular happening in my mind that I will not forget and a place I will long for again no doubt. Thank Y'all for being so good to me and drop me a line anytime. Every single one of you is welcome to my house any day or night and to the "Central Va. GTG" the first Sat. in April next year (and/or) Halifax County Antique Machinery and Heritage Festival the first weekend in May every year. I look forward to the next time we meet.

I have two 3400's that I bought with bows on them. I have run both of them and would not want to use them on anything other than poplar or yellow pine. I got them for the bow attachment, I may move one to my 4000 as it already has the slotted clutch cover.

Andre':

I didn't see you pump the oiler once on that 995! Have to get those Stihls and Huskys out of your head. No auto oilers on my old Homelites.

Chris B.

Chris I have to come clean with you, I forgot to pump the manual oilers on more than one saw. Somehow I always remembered after I was done making the cut. luckily your big A$$ saws didn't seem to care much.:msp_wink:
