Greg that 380 cuts great. Have you done any modifications at all to it?

The only thing I have done to it, is mod the muffler some. Been so long since I did it, don't remember what its like inside. LOL Opened up the outlet some, as much as I could, and still have something to bolt to.
I use it quite a bit. Its my light weight saw..
I use a 4000 or 4200 most of the time, but this also. Can't tell you what the compression is, but it is stout. Will yank the handle & your fingers, if your not careful.

I finally got my 395 up and running. I replaced the clutch side seal with the national 253747 which worked out great. Took the oil pump apart and cleaned it real well and replaced the gasket. Made new gaskets for the carb and the intake. Put the hand gaurd on it since the chain brake was missing. Rebuilt the carb and installed new fuel line, vent, and filter. I bought another used muffler since the old one looked like swiss cheese from someone drilling holes in it. Three of the antivibe buffers were bad and I replaced them. I did not find any replacement rings for it but when I took the cylinder off it looked really good. So I dropped the squish from .050 to .030 and modded the new muffler. The plug wire was also bad so I wrapped it with heat shrink tubing and electrical tape. I forgot the fuel tank gasket was missing and I replaced that also.
I am very pleased with the out come. This saw looks pretty beat but it does run good now. I checked the compression on it two different times and it is just shy of 180 psi. This thing out to really have some good torque. I found this saw to be very similiar to a 3700 except it is 65cc.

Looks like a couple of the Poulan guys were busy today.
I cut a nice load of hackberry on the way home from work. Only used my little Poulan Pro 295 with a 16".325.
Man that little saw runs nice!
What's not to like???
I paid $85.00 DELIVERED on eeeeeeeeeeee-bay and it was wearing a brand new 16" Husky NK bar and chain. It starts in 3 pulls or less every time, will idle 'til you shut it off or it runs out of fuel, lightweight, runs strong, simple to work on, parts are DIRT cheap and they are tough as groundhog hide!

I am with you on the 295 Poulans. I have a couple of them and really like them. One I have only done some mild mods to it but the other one I am thinking of getting more agressive with. Like you said they will cut some wood and they are easy to work on.

Its funny you mention how easy starting your 295 is. Just for the heck of it, I didn't cut with it, I choked, and primed that purple Wildthing that Steve left with me. That sucker started in 3 pulls I think.
Didn't run half bad. My brother mentioned last week, he wanted to borrow a saw to trim off a few low limbs at his place. I think I just found the perfect saw for him to do that with.:msp_thumbup:Gregg,

I bought a new muffler for mine at one time. But didn't use it. Found a decent used one. Not sure, but I think a couple styles will work on it. The one in the pic, has an outlet on the right side, with a small pipe running over to it. The one on the saw exits out the front, on the left. Seems to work OK for now. But have an option if this fails.
Not sure if the one in the pic is for a 330, 380, 3450, or 3750. Its what Poulan sent when I ordered it. They must have changed styles.

I have been working hard to clean up all the project saws, and I brought the camera down to take some pictures. My next project is a nice Stihl Contra S. Can't wait to get that monster running.
She sure is a sweet running thing!! Does that have the original 20" 3/8 on it? I hope to give mine a whirl real soon.

Yep! Makes things simple for me. Can use the same 70dr. link chain on all my 20" bars that way.

I don't have an extra but the cover # is superceded to the same as the 295,310,315 which is 530069700 and its like $12. The screws are 530016154 and are .35 ea.
