Man How'd you come up with those? I would kill for some 4000 rings. I do have two sets of NOS 3400 P+C kits but lacking in those precious 3700 and 4000 rings.

In my "tub" full of spur sprockets I have some for Poulan, Jred, & a few for Remington. I'll end up using them because I already have them. Not ideal for a serious sawyer, but they'll work fine for my occasional cutting.

With our Houston weather finally cooling off, I plan to clear out the garage & utility room. Hopefully I'll be able to re-claim my 'shop' space. I'm going to get some group photos of my Poulan, Craftsman, & Dayton saws.

More pics.

Only "issue" I found is that it has a spur instead of a rim drive on it.
I'll check fuel line later, but it starts and runs as is.
Couldn't be happier.

Great looking early 4200!!! Single screw top cover, smooth front case, straight bucking spike, etc. One thing I would change...and its not a big deal, is the spike, to the later one with the offset curve in them. Makes adjusting the chain MUCH easier.. accessing the screw. My early 5200 had a strait spike, while my 4200 & later 5200 had the curved ones. Easy to find on ebay.

What size bar is that? Don't see them roller nose bars or the full wrap handles to much back east. Couple years ago when I checked, Poulan still had a full wrap handles for sale. I'm gonna say they were well north of $100. So I never bought one...LOL When ya get in some wood, let us know what ya think of it.

As far as the sprockets go. I think if you use the saw a lot, rim style is best and quick, and cheap to change. But the spur type works just as well. You can just make out the curved spike in this pic.

Gregg,

Bought this last night for $50. Don't have it yet though, was on Ebay but have local pick up on it so I didn't have to pay shipping. Seller says it doesn't run but does turn over. Don't know if it's thin or thick ring either. But for the price I decided to gamble on it. We'll see.
