I know some of the old felt filters and some of the new plastic type filters have check valves in them to keep fuel from draining back.
I've never really paid attention to see if they help or not but I suspect they might.

Like Tim I have grown to like quiter saws and mufflers. Left my PP415 PP445 mufflers all stock and quite.
Didnt seem to matter either as they still out cut saws with modded mufflers in same cc range.

I've only tried a 445 that belonged to Roger. I don't think there are many 70cc saws that won't out cut. Very stout saws. They are very scarce up here.

There's a pp475 close to me that's finally starting to get more reasonable in price. I'm hoping it'll get sub 300 range.
The PTO side crank seals for those are getting extremely difficult to find. Try to make sure it's running well before you spring for it.
IMO 300 still at max for 475 unless like new perfect running. I sold my best 505 for 300.

It's out of my range even at 300.
Guy was asking 550 to start iirc. Or trade for a 288/390 husky. Bit out of the ballpark there. lol

There is one on the Racine CL that looks good at first glance, but the bottom looks like it has been sealed.
got good runnin 475 here yr or so ago. $175. was for someone else, but ran it while it was here.

Might do that using the 3700 I'm working on and see what happens. I did replace the fuel filter and it seems somewhat better.
Is anyone looking for a good used 3700 piston or a gas cap for a 306/245 saw? A friend is going to round up his remaining Poulan stock and see what he has to sell.
