Pulled my muffler off my 3400 to try fix someone's mm and found light scoring on my piston. Looks like it's time to do a vacc test to see what's leaking. Done one when I replaced the piston and cylinder and it passed, guess the seals or a gasket has started leaking. Saw runs good and haven't experienced any problems with it.

I like them both! They will probably be ones that I keep, mostly cause I like the series of the 3.3 and because the 3400 is so darn clean. I'll probably get rid of my green 3400 now

Been over a year on the top end rebuild and running high grade oil and none etho gas at 50:1, haven't had any problems with my other saws on the same mix I use.

Could simply be some dirt sucked thru the filter. They aren't the best. If it were seals I'd expect to see difficulty in idling and carb setting. Also check the intake adaptor. They're famous for coming loose.

Forgot to mention that i also saw light scoring toward the intake side also with piston down.

What would be a better filter option than the flocked screen?

Could just try a new set of Caber rings in for 14 bucks.

Has anyone tries Huztl Husky parts to repair box store Poulans (42cc and such)? You can get a P&C for peanuts compared to Poulan spares

I saw that. Asking more than an excellent condition 3400 is worth.

Don't know of any other than checking filter every tank full. Other option would be the 4000 filter setup.

Putting a worth on items is a waste of time. Everything in this world is worth what someone is willing to pay. I buy snap on tools everyweek that i know damn good and well arent worth what they ask. But i do it bc im willing to pay it.

Wish we had a Matco dealer, i like their tools, not as pricey.
