1st year 1990 with K&S p+c no decomp with the bigger 87 carb. Guess it is sought after by the cult like following. I never been impressed with a 262 myself and sold all of them with mahle and 120 carb though. I just soon run my 60cc poulans.
So if this is their best one and it still dont impress me. Well that tells me all I need to know about the cult following this saw. :dizzy::laugh:

Got to own up on this one.

Just to update you folks who I have told over and over 262 do not impress me. Well Guess it is only the mahle and 120 saws that do not impress now.

I must say with only 5 mins of test cutting this 262 impressed me. Not anywhere close to a broke in saw. Just rebuilt with new ring and new crosshatching.
Never said that with the mahle cylinder and 120 carbed 262's.
But this one has K&S cylinder and the bigger 87 carb.
Sounds like a mad hornet in the cuts. All stock notta done, screen and gaskets all still in, no mm etc.
Will be hard to let this one go.

Hi Mike

That ash is great burning wood. I hear those little Dolmars really rip.

Actually Tim, that was a 6400 Dolmar!
I think it may be a sign of something when you can't remember your saw nomenclature.
Just not sure what it is a sign of!!! LOL

Just wanted to stop in here and say howdy to all the old familiar faces of all my fellow Poulan nerds. ;) Been a long time since I was here...feel like a newbie again.
Mike (mrs61moparman) called me the other night. Talkin to him brought back some fond memories of this place. Want especially to say hi and thanks again to Tim,
(fossil) for that lil Partner500. Hopefully will get back to using that again soon. Money, health and old age are no fun. Like someone once said, and I agree..."Gettin old ain't for pussies".

About a month ago I decided to try get back into running a saw. Had a fair size red oak thats been dead couple years, and wanted to get it before it went bad. I used a 5200, not because I needed too, but because I wanted to! LOL Just like the way they cut and sound. Odd choice for first time running a saw in ages. This past week I finally been getting back into it slowly. Using old standby saws, such as 4000, 3000, and super 380. Couple cell phone pics to show it still works and me too. Not dead yet. LOL:D

Gregg,
