Well got back to fixing my 2300 and 3800. The 3800 was leaking air at the pump cover. Had another cover and gasket that I installed and it now doesn’t leak and hold pressure. I also put a new check valve in the 2300, replaced oil line and it now oils. It does leak oil after shut off so I presume loosening oil cap will reduce the pressure. While in Vermont I also got my 3700 going with a carb rebuild and new recoil rope. Now all I have left is a 3400 and 4000 to get going.

Got to love the sound of a good tuned 3700

Not even getting close to my projects. Just been doing others saws for $$$.
Sold 4 yesterday and 3 more on hold still for income tax returns.

Some day when it slows down I will get to a few of mine waiting in line.

2 60cc waiting on my to do list. 365 3.7

Thought I would show off the twin poulan. Maybe next time twin 60cc on both.

Really just to show differences of them for newer folks.

Bet that 3700 had the power with that much compression.

Steve

I have a 3700 here that I dropped the cylinder on and ported the cylinder advanced the timing and muffler modded. I tached it at 13,000 no load with bar and chain.

It cuts very well. It will run circles around my Stihl 036 or my Husky 455 rancher.

That would look awesome, slight v twin poulan, image the torque it would have, but I believe to keep it compact it would have to run reed valves with side exhaust.

Started working on the 3400. When cranking it I immediately noticed how easy it was to pull. Wouldn’t start. Did a compression test and it topped out at 118. Pulled cylinder , removed rings and checked ring end gap. Checked out at .077. Shouldn’t it be closer to .005 per inch of cylinder diameter or 1.8”x .005= .009?
