Why do you guys run gasket delete? Just trying to get the highest compression possible? Or is it just a mod thing? Can someone post true examples of readings or performances that show viable differences on performance for work involved? Personally if I want more cc I just grab a bigger saw,

It is to bump up the compression. Depending on the saw you could get any where from 5 to 10 psi.
For me, I delete the base gasket and then drop the cylinder even more by shaving the bottom down some and then I can get another 25 psi on the compression.

The compression does not increase the CC but it does increase the torque. It will have more grunt in the cut.

Decided to pipe a micro xxv instead of the 2.0 craftsman . Im doing a 304 stainless manifold so I can polish it . Compared to other brand 2.0 saws the Poulans have a huge exhaust port , it's even tapered out . Anybody know a saw with same carb mount larger cc ? I need more fuel and want the needles . Here is a mini mac 25 I am also doing to compare brands.

I used a 3400 today that I put a new NOS built oil pump on and was very surprised at how great both the manual & auto Oiler work

I cut 90% of my wood in the good old days with my 3400 it's still a great saw and with the new rings it's back strong. Last time I used wood for heat was 1993, now it's just fire pit

I haven't run a NOS pump or diaphragm. I've only serviced them and punched out new diaphragms. In my experience, they oil very well with a fresh diaphragm. I think some of the historical criticism directed upon them was simply due to stiff/worn out diaphragms. They will make a 20" bar sling a line of oil just fine. And, they don't idle away $'s of bar oil like many of the others of the era.

Iron Mike came over today & we started splitting the white oak, he uses the original Monster maul and somehow splits these without a wedge
