A member I trust implicitly has run the SKF seals for some time with no issue. OEM seals are still available.
A sized correctly seal that would be fresh is.
Dichtomatik Americas 17X28.5X6TC Measured and there is enough room for 6mm width

Thanks guys. Guess I’ll pull them out and order some poulan ones.

Was it hard to turn the crank, I know mine was hard with the skf, normal with the Poulan seals.

yes it was harder to crank over after.

So after cutting a bit with my 3700 the chain seems rather dry. It’s not oiling all the great, even the manual oiler leaves a bit to be desired. Last week when I pulled it out I replaced the suction line, the diaphragm looked waay stretched but I put it back together anyway, it oils but I don’t get much out.

Sounds like you need a new diaphragm.

And check the check valves also for blockage

Picked up this Craftsman 3.4-16 here from a local ad for $25. Not many hours, everything is original even tte spark plug which still has the red overspray on it lol The only thing not original is the starter handle

It needed fuel lines, duck bill, and I put a kit in the carb, all the diaphragms were hard. Saw started right up old plug and all.

Forgot, the muffler I modded, I just drilled the diffuser holes to 3/8s and cut a slit on the side like the 4000.

Picked up this Craglist find for $20. Choke rigged and oiler lever broken off. But its $20 worth of saw. But best part is it runs! 20" bar . 3400
