I just picked this beast up, fairly clean saw, not abused. Rebuilt the WJ-20 carburetor today along with a WJ-9 from another sawit came with a 28” bar

It's junk so you need to sell the 8500 to me. If the muffler is like the other 54, 52, 4900 the are welded
Ok. Thanks. Maybe I should remeasure the existing rings as I got .061. Believe comp was 150 before I tore it apart.
Build you a good fire or put it in your fire place or wood heater and burn it out, keep an eye on it, don't need it cherry red and warped.Hahaha, no selling it here but thanks for the info. Looking at the IPL it didn't appear to come apart but wasn't sure. Any tips on getting in there to clean out the carbon build up?
Get it hot like a self cleaning oven and it will fall out
My stock 4000 rings pushed almost clear in are .080 and I think that's to much after some research I said. 074 and I will stand by that
I checked my new piston and rings and they are the same. 080.
What rings are you using, don't want to start something but can't add to the stock rings
