Can you give me the number on the bar ?

I'll get it when I go back out. Thinking about pulling the tip for the poulan bars I use.
It's a 20" 3/8 050 D176 for 3400-4000 and 590 echo etc.

Posted full pics in past here before. See if I can dig one up.

Think you can see number on the bar box. So there you go.

I always thought that was a sharp looking saw so I got a few for myself. I put a 4000 air filter on and it looks even better

I prefer the green myself but the price was definitely right.

Feels pretty close to my 4000, from what I remember. It buried that 18 in some solid pin oak so that seems about right.

I've got a 4200 coming down the line but it's in rough shape. I had a chance to buy a top end years ago and could kick myself for not doing it. Oh well.

Me 4 with an 18" bar.

Speaking of the 4200/5200 series, had a broken clutch cover. Maybe someone modified it for a bow bar with a hammer?20200930_191432.jpg20200930_191441.jpg20200930_192704.jpg
I use painters/ masking tape to build a form. I fill the tape with slow cure jb weld. ( balancing is important)20201001_180443.jpg20201001_180448.jpg20201001_180450.jpg20201001_180504.jpg
The tape releases pretty easy if you don't have any creases.

I do a little sanding/ shaping. Then I prime it with a high build automotive primer . Spray with color.
You can see its not perfect but I only did one coat of jb weld and you tend to discover bubbles under the tape ,another thin coat and it would be basically indesernable from the metal.
I just want chip and oil control. 20201002_161725.jpg20201002_161732.jpg20201002_162651.jpg20201002_162659.jpg

That’s going to look good. JB works like Bondo, but stiffer.

Ignore the saw brand, but I guess this 045 saw had sat on wet concrete in a basement.

Hard to tell it now, & that lower HB mount is strong because I added in a rolled piece of 20G sheetmetal & applied JB’d all around it.

Also cut the can muffler completely open with a Dremel & then tig welded it back shut, after removing the baffle. I’ll never do that again, way too much work when you can buy a later 2 piece type!
