Had a 3750 do that too. Smoked with the bar oil getting suked into the crankcase.

Split and redo with threebond 1184 is what I did instead of the black silicon they use.

Roger owns that saw for many year now.

Love those thin ring 49cc cc saws. Little hotrods. PP305 3000.

I sell them instead of keeping those due to the thin ring pistons are hard to find for me. Cant find any replacements when needed even in rings alone. So take care of them.

Also why I swap 335 yellow thin ring saws to the thick ring piston when needed. But never found one I could do that for 3000 PP305.

My 305 is in that pic cutting above the camaro. Sold it local if I recall right to a friend at work.

I don’t remember where I got the rings. Just got lucky. With the original 49 carb it would race like it had an air leak once in a while. Double checked pressure/vac & was fine.
That’s a nice group of saws.

I just looked if any pistons for the 3000 were available. One place in Australia claimed to have them for $143.00. I couldn’t find a part # for just the rings.

Someone should buy that 1 to set back to someday get 2 new ones if needed.

About time some old stock starts showing up.




These 335 chrome bore thick ring sets is what I like on the smaller saws, 54cc. Just tad easier to get and ring is everywhere to find with ease.

I just picked up 2 spare NOS rings off evilbay for my 245 for 25 bucks. Both my boys like chainsaws. My Husq 51 has been my go-to for 25 years, but mean green has grown on me. Lol.
