Not sure of fitup but I've done several on my 3400, 3700's. You're correct that they are a pain. I wind it up by hand until its much smaller than the opening. I then grasp the spring with a needle nose pliers and squeeze it like the buffalo on the old nickels and carefully insert it. I'd love to remove the metal ring around the recoil to ease installation but it appears to be riveted in.

Bob, that spring part # is 530042023 and the micro shares the same spring.

There all over ebay. If you can't get one let me know, but things are getting ready to get hairy here so it might be a few days before I could get to it.

Aint bs, i actually have a lead on another one. This time i will post pictures.

Kid, your gettin to be more fun all the time.

There is a old saying, cant remember it completly but it was something like this.

This is my first post. I have been reading all of the old post. When I read your post it hit close to home. I am working on my dads 5200. I want to re due it and give it back to him. He has forgot more about saws than I will ever know. I know your dad will like it.

This is a awsome site and it is so good to see others that like poulan. All this time when I say poulan people look at me like I am crazy. I have been hooked on them since I was a kid. Hearing a old poulan will do that to you.

Welcome Hunter!

Has this site died a slow death? Maybe problem is that its hard to find. I forgot all about it until I looked in the Community Site. Maybe we don't need it either. Just wondering.

Boy, I couldn't have looked very well. Bo Lowe was kind enough to send me one. Let me ask you a question Mark. Does the metal shield come off that is similar to the shield on 3400. Looks to be riveted to the housing. If it came out it would make replacing the spring and pre-tensioning the rope a lot easier.
Yea. Next Wed I'm going snowmobiling in Vermont. They are expecting 12-16 in. of snow on top of the 14 they all ready have. Just hope it ends and weather is good for traveling. Stay safe.

Bob, go check your email, I sent you something to help explain that spring install.

You can keep it! We have had something like 60" already, I am done with it :hmm3grin2orange:

Well, it don't matter, if it comes, it comes.

I just learned along time ago to be home when it hits. I just hope the weather man is right and the bad aint coming till later tomorrow.

I'll go into work, we start at 6am but if its starting to get bad I'm out of there by nooner or sooner. :givebeer:

Got the plow on the truck, food in the house, gas for the generator, wood for stove, beer in the fridge.

Poulan Pro 395

Has anyone heard of it? Is this guy reading the saw wrong? Or am I a fool among the Poulan community! Acres lists no such saw. I am going to trade one of my creamsacles for it so any info would be appreciated:good:

I hear you guys. I got my Toro finished up yesterday. But the fiancee is supposed to be flying home from FLA tomm. and landing in Logan airport at 2. If the flight doesn't get canceled. But we got gas in the truck and plenty of wood and if the ice brings some trees down...:good:
So does that 395 exist or what?

Nope no such thing, but you better give me that guys phone # so I can double check myself.

Oh, ok I guess I ought to tell the truth. Joe I have never seen a 395 but I have seen a 385, and here it comes, there both 65cc and are technically the last 4000's made.

Joe, you suck.. :hmm3grin2orange:

Yeah I got to get that last 5200 part way back assembled along with the 306SA so I can get them painted.

Then I got to get a special to a guy 306A up and in running condition again. Then I might tackle that Ridgid XX and the Wright 111, then theres that other S25CVA that needs some love.

Who knows what mighy appear by then. :wilt:

Haha We'll see! I have had dealings with this guy before and to be honest I dont really like him! He tried lo-balling me on a saw before and I told him to go pound sand! And he "doesnt care for Poulans". Hes a saw snob. But he likes Huskys and I have had that 61 on the shelf for a while after a fresh rebuild. So Ill take that 395 or 385 of his "too good for Poulans" hands! It wont be till after we get slammed with this snow tho. But When I take possession, You know it will be posted here first
