Here it is boys. Poulan Pro 395. In awesome shape too! I traded my Husky 61 for it. That was a nice saw, in great shape too but I think I won out here.
It has great compression and the p/c passed with flying colors. It has a 20" carlton and sharp chain with about 50%. It even has a chain brake and this is an American saw, not Canadian. It even has the original dealer tag next to the spike. This saw was a cleanout find and a 1 owner/homeowner saw. From what I can see its an '88. Now if you are like me you might be wondering "whats a 395PP?" Its a Poulan 4000 in Poulan Pro colors. Just like the 375 FP is a 3700.
Im told it runs like a champ too. I bet these saws were big bucks new.

Joe,

I agree with you and Mark, you won that trade. I am working on it's identical twin, but bead blasting the cases and basically restoring the saw.

Great additions Steve & Joe!!! I'm really looking forward to the progress you make with that 900 Steve. I don't know a darn thing about that beast..LOL

Joe, your 395 is a rarely seen saw too, but at least I would be very comfortable with that saw. LOL I recently got a PP375. Great saw.

A 3400 pulls a 20" chain no problem Stub. The 2900, 2750, PP4620, PP295 all are 46cc saws, and with a muff mod pull the 20" bar fine, all are .325 and will accecpt LPX chain. The 3400 will use an 72 LGX .375 chain.

thanks dave!!!!

When I mean drill the diffuser, not to destroy it, trust me I've done it Lol, I mean drill the holes as big as you go, my 2900 I've had buried in 20" oak and she pulls fine, It's not a power house in big wood but will get the job done.

The tooless chain tensioner is Bullsh**, you could pull the guts and grind the away a bit of the plastic and use nuts, or just order an AV chain cover and be done. I would use an older 2900 muffler on the newer 4620 saw mod the diffuser, throw away the screen and your good, and possibly a WT285 carb which will bolt right on. The 46cc motor has a lot of power.

is the 2775 46 cc also?

2775 is an updated version of the 2750 which is 46cc. A buddy has a 2750, I've muff modded it and added a LPX chain to it, he loves the saw now.

Also Stub, the Poulan 2700, 2800, 3100, 3300, 3500, and 3600 saw are basically the saw as PP 330, 335, 365, and 380, all use a Mag case and bolt on cylinder, good stuff. The 2700 and 2800 are 46cc, 3100, 3300 are 54cc, 3500, and 3600 are 60cc. These are probably the last great Poulans ever built.

Everything is looking pretty good right now, I'm probably gonna get a 3500, a partially dissasembled 4000, and a grimy old but nice S25DA.

i got a few of those soon LOL

Gregg,

Join the club, Gregg. I don't think there's a great deal of knowledge floating around about an A900. That's why it's cool to get to work on one. You have to learn to fly it by the "seat of your pants." If you check it out on Acres, he doesn't include very much info on it and even what he has is not complete. For example, he lists the chain pitch as 9/16". This one is 1/2".
