Yes, the diffuser is what I was referring to. As I said earlier, instead of drilling the holes out I basically cut the center of the bottom out. On my 330 when I cut the bottom out I didn't see any gains until I chunked that screen and it was a new saw. Both of you, thanks for confirming my findings.

Yeah I hear you on cutting the bottom out as I will sometimes "V" both ends of the diffuser on the little Wild Thing type saws. That seems to work well also.

In the past I've enlarged all the holes on the diffuser and because I can't weld I drill three or four holes in the front cover to let more exhaust out. Naturally I remove the spark screen from the diffuser. Seems to work but its hard to compare it to anything. I know when I openned up my Homy 330 it really helped.

Is that a question or a statement?

Anyway whatever, its not completely accurate.

The 3750 is the 60cc version of the 3450.

The Poulan Pro Super 380 is the 60cc version of the Poulan Pro 330
Sorry for the wrong info, just going off what one of my instruction manuals lists.

Mark,
Was you 3.7 equipped with the powersharp?

I have owned a Craftsman/Roper 3.7 with PowerSharp and Oregon 80 Barracuda chain. In my experience, I have never seen a Craftsman/Poulan 3.7 with PowerSharp. Did Poulan make a 3.7 with PowerSharp?

You know I'm certain I've seen a 3.7 Craftsman(Poulan) with PowerSharp. Or was it a 3.4 Craftsman(Poulan)? My mind is shot now that my Dallas Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl.

Yes, I have seen the Craftsman 3.7 with Power Sharp. Was a real nice NEW one on ebay while back. Was never used.

Super Bowl !! Bob, what is that? I'm a life long Browns fan.:dizzy:

Wade that is my 306A and acutally a early model that says Thirty O Six on it.

Be aware that there were 306's and 306A's. The A's were automatic oilers.

There 59cc and one of the best ever in there day at that displacement.

I find it amazing that you can find decals for the 306A but try to find them for a 3700, 4000, etc. I occasionally see 3400 decals but never any others.

It's always amazed me too, what decals (and parts) are available for some of the obscure things but something very common is NLA.:dizzy:

cool, this one is supposed to run and is cheap...will get it if i can.

oh hey--what should the compression be? i think my homie of similar vintage has 120psi, but isn't running (fuel issue). for now and then service--not a front line saw!

I current own three Poulan saws. Only one is a pro model and I use it the most. Very happy with cost versus performance.

What I am not happy with is their stupid pro pole saw. Since day one it has been hard to start, after a few minute of use if you try to cut over your head it would shut off. I finally got mad replaced everything in the fuel system except for the tank. It ran like a top for 1.5 hours and then started the same old crap. I will not recommend poulan pole saws to anyone and plan to buy a Sthil HT101 to replace the POS I have. I bet it don't have 10 hours on it at the most.

don't do the stihl

unless you are concerned with resale value.

i've used a low mileage stihl many times. sucks (is mom's)

i've used a higher mileage tanaka once. much much better.

buddy of mine has that poulan "pro" polesaw...not ever going to pull the trigger on it. that's his mess.

fwiw.
