Well, I *am* happy for you!!!

Hey I'm happy that you found that handle!! Be happy for me will ya? :ices_rofl:

That's why I said what I said, cool on getting the old saws working and even cooler on a new tractor, they are *real* handy! Here, I just got my GF to wave to you, I told her about your new field and woods ride....

Mark, you will love the FEL on the new tractor. Do yourself a favor and see how many $$$$$ it would take to put a grapple on. On my 990 I put a grapple on it and really love it for picking up big rounds I'm no longer able to handle. Here is where I bought mine.......nevermind, they no longer sell grapples. OK, I can't read, they still offer a 5ft grapple for $1550.00

A grapple would be nice but I think the money will be spent first on a skid steer bucket adapter setup and a set of pallet forks!

The other problem is a lack of extra hyd remotes on the tractor, but that might be overcome as well then I would think about building my own grapple.

Whichever way you go the grapple is well worth it, take my word on this one.

Nice saw Al. Ive heard here that some early 3400's has an adjustable oiler.
adjustable oiler... to what are you referring? thanks for the tolerance of the newbie question...

Let me try that again... What I should have asked is -

What are you looking at in the pics that indicates this particular 3400 has one v. not?

Another project that wasnt quite as represented. :givebeer:

I have been looking for a slick 3000 for sometime and ran across this one. They said it ran, well yes it will for a few seconds before it dies. They didnt show the right side of the saw, what the hell happend to this clutch cover? :ices_rofl: And yes it was shipped with this bar and chain on it as well. Wonder how well it cut, that is when it used to run.....

The bright side is that the P/C are perfect, like new! The oiler puts out like the prom date of your dreams and it has a rim and drum setup on it as well. It also didnt cost a whole bunch either.

So I think "when" I get time, I'll go through the fuel system and find a new clutch cover for it. It will get a muffler mod and a new bar tip to replace the bananna nosed one thats on it now.

Should end up quite well.

Another one of those "reverse rotation" saws, that's why the chain is on backwards....just kiddin' That's a lot like my 3500, mine seems like a really good saw although I regret I haven't found much to use it one this year.

Awesome saw mark, I like this series a lot, i find myself reaching for my PP335 with a 20'' and Craftsman 2.8 15" for jobs big and small. i still have another PP335 waiting for a rebuild, vitals are all perfect, just real dirty and fuel system work.
I too once bought a P.O.S Poulan that wouldn't cut either (notice the price)

how is the other side of that one joe???? nice price for sure!!!! how was the piston and cylinder?

Need help guys

Not chainsaw related, but Poulan related. My pop in law went and bought a Poulan Pro BVM200 blower, he asked me about it, and I checked the Lowes reviews on it, and with 37 reviews it has 2 good reviews, the rest sounded like they were very frustraited and most only averaged about 6 months total use before it went caablewy or some other catastrophic issue happend. The reviews sound like the usual very hard to start, runs very hot, almost imposible to start after running longer than a half hour. I'm gonna assume this is all due to the insanely lean condition these engine are setup with at the factory.

My question is, of course I can adjust the carb for him, but with a small blower engine how, do the same techniques apply as with a chainsaw?? Also I'm thinking instead of him running a 40:1mix, run a 32:1 mix to be safe, or would this just cause more carbon build up??

very nice haul!!!

P/C are mint. Low hour saw, high compression. Runs great, I dont use it too much, but when I got to start it it pops within 5 pulls.
