I just disassembled my 2250 to replace the piston-cylinder and some other parts and i saw that it hasn't reed valve. This is the first time i saw a 2-stroke engine without reed valve and also my first time which i saw a too cheap rod.Anyway, what i want to ask is that this engine doesn't have reed valve?

No reed valve Kostaki. One most newer saws, the piston controls the intake. (piston ported)

I got mine from a Matco Tool dealer. It cost me about $30 about ten years ago. Here's the link....

sears has a good one Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

I use mine all the time. often, just having that larger handle and the hardened bits does the job...

you can also spend twice as much for a klein ...

or you can pay half as much for a more plastic-ie harbor freight version http://www.harborfreight.com/impact-screwdriver-set-with-case-37530.html

Where do you suggest I look for the hand held impact driver? The screw was close to the trigger. Looks like it hold on the top assembly that covers the carb. Air filter set in it. It's at the rear below the air filter.

are you talking about that phillips head that holds down the oiler bracket? if so, just vice-grip it out. i think the hardware store will sell you a gross of those for the $20 it would take to get the impact driver, or even a more user friendly SHCS... but you should get one a driver anyhow, imo.

Bar Chain Replacement

I have a Craftsman 2.3 A saw that needs a new chain and bar. It currently has a banana bar that isn't my favorite.
Can you give some advice on a 14 or 16 in. bar and chain combination?

Thank You.

Yep, used off of another cheap parts saw! HAHAHA!

Look around locally, find a junker you can strip parts from. There's always look at the sales from the site sponsors like bailey's and chainsawr (chainsawr has a ton of used stuff).. Haven't looked, but should be common enough and cheap enough to buy new, they sell combos for most poulans at the box stores, wallyworld, etc.. If you get real stuck, shoot me a PM, I'll have to check but might have one spare off of a junker poulan 1800. I don't recall off the top of my head what bar mount that is or chain pitch, etc. I don't have the instant off the top of my head ref numbers a lot of these poulan "pros" have here, they know their stuff!

Mount should be an A041(Oregon). 16" is 55 drive links of 3/8" low pro or 91V(again, Oregon). To my knowledge, they are the only manufacturer of this mount, maybe branded other ways, but you know what I am saying, I think.

For what it would cost to ship a nice bar and chain, you should be able to pick one up somewhere close. Any home improvement store, even the Mega marts sell them.

Yeah thats funny too.

Reminds me of the old saying.

Be careful of the man that only owns one gun, as he more then likely knows how to use it.

My only firearm is a Barrett M99. Yeah, it's kind of clumsy for home defense, and you only have one shot, but damn is it effective!

Jeff, almost all of the 16" low pro bars that I have seen take 56DL chains but I know some of the off brands like Sandvik used some different counts.

Well if you missed him, you wouldnt have to worry about it as it would scare them to death anyway.

Man, it is a monster. I unleashed it at my brother in laws bachelor party when we were shooting skeet, well, when they were. They stopped pretty quickly after they felt the concussion from the gun's first shot. The only drawback is you don't want to do too much target practice, as the rounds are almost $6.50 a piece, so a 50 round session will cost you over $300.

Quicky question was at the pawn shop today and saw a Poulan 3700 in ok used condition. The bar adjuster was broken though as they just bent over a bolt and put a nut on the end to try and tighten the chain. Not sure if it ran. felt light on compression. They were asking $49 for it.

Seems like people around here like them? They also have two good mac 10-10 autos that nobody is touching that they are asking $59 each for. Thinking of going the Frank Fritz bundle offer on the group. All have 16" bars

Yeah, 55 is a Stihl thing. I have sucessfully swapped chains on to my Wild Things et al, though its way easier to go the other way.
