use html and photo bucket paste it in and you can upload lots of pics and video even i do!!!! im sure they will start to charge for that soon LOL! i was pretty close on your saw of what they nailed you for its enuff to make ya seel it at a flea market LOL!!!!! you shoulda got 40 to 50 on that saw.... that jrp dude sells them left and right for like 74 bucks and a low shipping he does do alot of work on them plus new loops and bars.....

The other dude has a fancy schmancy page with gobs of pics and colorful language describing his saws, which aren't worth much more than what I have sold. I prefer to actually under-sell them somewhat then give the buyer more than he thought he paid for rather than the other way around. I prefer to try to keep complaints to a minimum which keeps my happy also.
Most of my saws are sold with usable bars and chains, the last Poulan went with one that was almost new. I don't buy new ones unless the one on it can't be used. The ones that aren't usable for awhile get sent to the recycler.

You must use the mailed check option because they charge me nothing to direct deposit it into my bank.

I prefer to not link PayPal to my bank account or give them my account number. That may sound too cautious but when you hear of some of the horror stories from other people and what happened to their account I prefer to remain distant and will pay a little extra for the privilege.

One option I've thought about is starting another account strictly for online buying and selling and keeping a minimum amount in it so if someone steals the entire amount they won't get much.

I have only one micro right now which I probably won't sell. It's kinda ugly but I've gotten attached to it. If it were pretty I might consider selling it but right now it's my go-to trimming saw. My source for saws has kinda dried up lately but may get a few in April if not before.

You're probably all right in doing so, I'm just a little too cautious I imagine. If I was gonna sell much more I might have to do the same but I feel like I may be winding down, have a few more to go. I started this as a hobby where I could also pick up a little money just doing it part time. It's getting to be a little more full time than I want and it's getting harder to get saws reasonably priced so I can repair them and re-sell. I may sell a few for a couple more years, not sure. Some of the saws I bought to sell but for some reason or another I decided they were keepers. Most of my keepers are Poulans and Homelites, a couple of Stihls, partially because I like the saws and probably couldn't make any money on them anyway. Stihls sell pretty well but you can get tied up in a money pit if they need many parts.

You guys should try having a wife who is a CPA who specializes in auditing banks. I can't pull no wool over her head! We were out of town over Christmas, and she asks me what I spent $70 on at a local grocery store. I replied I got some wine(not uncommon for us) and a couple bottles of their vintage ale(only available during the holidays). She replied that that should only be $56 with tax. She starts grilling me, but I didn't give anything up. When we got back home on the 3rd, I handed her a bottle of wine she liked, and told her "Merry Christmas, the store had a case of these on the shelf and I got you one as a bonus gift from me last time I was there. That's where the missing $14 went, guess I should have stopped at getting the camera".

I'm still in the doghouse. She's that on top of our money.

See I am the type of person who looks at his account balance and just thinks he spent more than he thought. I have had my Paypal and bank linked for many years with no problems. Paypal did lock my account once because I had accessed it from a different IP address, that was a pain for about 24 hours until I got it fixed. My bank is also not fond of ID theft and if I told them there was money missing they would immediately handle the issue, I have actually talked with them extensively on the subject.

i have had a few cost 17 bucks then you add 80 cents for confirmation your at 18 ebays fees your at 19 ... what did he charge you for shipping and where was it from????

I ship UPS and have yet to pay less than $25. More if its a large saw needing a bigger box. UPS I believe goes by box size. Anything larger than 12"X12"X22" is oversize and can cost 30.00 or more. If I see a somewhat high shipping price I adjust my bid accordingly. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Just won an S25CVA on Ebay. Shipping was I believe $16. something. Paid a little more but the body had no paint loss or scratches that I could see. Wanted a cherry one so I bid accordingly.

I have been thinking of switching to them the last 3 saws i shipped took forever to get there even with me getting them out fast.... thank god the one guy was cool about it i had to call the post office open a case then it magically appered back in the system a day later and was back enroute...... so have you had decent luck with ups???? usps had been well for till the holidays.......

I used to use UPS when I worked at a large car dealership. The corporate discounts are huge for them. I shipped a huge front bumper for a sportscar to Canada for $75. We are talking a 60"x30"x30" box. Lately I've been using the post office which is reasonable, especially if you can fit it in a flat rate box(which ships fast) but like you guys stated, during the holidays, they get seriously overwhelmed.

I always get a tracking number (USPS calls it delivery confirmation number) that way you and the buyer knows where it is, or at least where it's been. I've had pretty good luck with USPS so far, sometimes not so good luck with buyers who don't know how to look at tracking number.

Here are the pics I promised of the fuel lines for the 8500.

Good to see you got one going Jim. Sounds pretty good.

Looks like you squeezed a 5/16" line through there. As you know its tough to do but it will work for awhile.

Just so you know if you have the original check valve filter on them still, you can get new felts for them if you need to. Oregon makes em. I can look up the part # if you need it.

I passed on that one too because of the shipping. Somebody got a somewhat crusty but complete looking Wizzard version of a S25-CVA for $10 plus $12 shipping today. Almost bid on that one. Hope the winner was somebody here, and that it has a good P/C.

I just shipped a 245A with a 21" bar. 23 dollars. My fault anyway. I should have looked at the shipping.
