Did you vacuum test carb? Might need to take it back apart and soak in berrymans overnight. Have you tried leaning out low side and cranking idle up?
Was woundering where you guys get your decals? Is there someone on AS that does them or do you do it local.
Thanks Scott
--how far have you gotten with the rebuild? What do you lack?
You know I confused your carb with the one on the 245a, I was working on it yesterday. I don't know where any governor might be on the 3400 carb. I just relooked at the ipl as well and nothing is jumping out at me.
Kostas, your right, there is no governor on your carb. Yours is a electronic ign and must be a very late model one. Most of the carbs on the 306/245 were HS-59A or B carbs that did have a governor.
A good rebuild on that carb will probably fix you up.
No, they're are not mine, the photo was posted by Farley9n in another thread. There's a Craftsman on the right with 24" on the recoil cover; any idea which Craftsman model it is?
got a nice little 1800 that flat out oils way too much in my opinion. i know there is no "official" adjustment to the oiler output but was wondering if there's anything related to the pump, lines, etc. i could do to lessen the output.
zogger, the saw is completely disassembled and all the parts have been cleaned. I even have another engine ready to install. Mike has truly been a God Send!! However, the saw is at the Stihl dealer waiting for the tech to comfirm for Husquavarna that the saw was damaged through no fault of my own. I am certainly frustrated that the rebuild has been delayed, but I didn't want Poulan to get away with not honoring the warranty.
Although I have given much thought to purchasing either a Dolmar PS420 or a Stihl Ms250 with Easy2Start. I may go ahead and get another Poulan 4218avx and have it muffler modified and get a 16" bar/chain for it. I sure love that saw!!
Another member of AS believes that I may get a new saw from Husquavarna/Poulan. If that is the case, I'll still rebuild the old saw and keep it as a backup, but have both modified. Hope everything if going well for you, Islero
Just got a new to me PP335 I just found that 530 030 176 is NLA at PartsTree. I think the bore is 38 mm? Any ideas for replacement ring will a standard 1.5 or 1.2 mm tk work? any help finding a source is appreciated. thanks in advance.
Shouldn't it be running rich at that elevation due to the thinner air? If it is it should run like crap but it shouldn't cause it to overheat because of getting to much fuel and oil.
