Amen.

Jim, I took my 4900 to the Iowa GTG and had alot of fun watching people running it and return it to me grinning from ear to ear. :msp_biggrin:

It impressed every single one who ran it. It is a awsome runner.

Yours seems to be just as good a runner as well. Coincidence? I would think not.

It sure has made my priority list:D

It dont seem that my post would apply to you and your situation.

With all the time you spend posting here telling us how tight things are for you, you would never have enough time to wear a already half wore out vintage Poulan chainsaw. :ices_rofl:

Most likely, point taken.

I was more really commenting on collectables versus daily runners, so I used my personal situation to make a point, that's all, but ya, it is too much, I see your point, so I can back off that.

Rep for you. Not many on these forums will cheerfully turn the other cheek in the face of vitriol. :)

I don't have a saw that CAN'T work for its keep.
If they want to be shelf queens they will have to go live somewhere else.

I don't use all of my saws every day, but I expect them to be ready to work when I am!

Mike

Hey now, I had the laughing smiley, we joke around here sometimes and to someone dropping by it might not be apparent. Nothing nasty was intended.

Now you need to relax some please....

I am fully relaxed, and am not just "dropping by" these AS forums.

However, you used the "rolling on the floor laughing" smiley, which, in many circles, is seen as a snide attack as you laugh derisively at what was posted.

There are so many opportunities for misinterpretation in these circumstances.

Hey guys, thought you might want to have a look at a Poulan 5200 that I lucked into. This was an ebay deal and the seller didn't have any info on the saw except that it had no pullcord and was dirty. Well he gave me a good enough price that I decided to risk it. Turns out it had very little use and still had machine rings on the piston. It cleaned up very nice and only needed a fuel line and pullcord and started right up and ran like a champ. I will also add a cutting video once my next batch of big oak logs comes in. Hoss's poulan 5200 - YouTube I feel pretty good about this one.

Very very nice .... and with the full wrap, too!

Well thankfully I dont belong to the same negative circle you do. You seem to misinterpret circumstances quite often.

Maybe I am mistaken there, but i'm pretty sure that somewhere on that thing it says made in sweden. Wouldn't be my first time being wrong though.

Sweden is a long ways away from Louisiana...nice find though for sure!!

Sigh.

I just received a very nice, late production 306A. Nice runnner, needing only a cap duckbill and straightening of the tensioner screw to be back in business. Will post pics once my home internet service (and landline and TV.....damn AT&T U-Verse...) is back up next week. Using my celphone for now.....and signal is lousey at the homestead. This is the THIRD time I have tried to make this post...:bang:

Anywho, I'd like to have an IPL for this saw. I already have the IPL (and SM) for the earlier points ign saws. This saw has electronic ignition and the un-governed HS carb. Anybody here have this IPL? Thanks in advance...

I do not have an IPL but I do have a copy of a service manual for Poulan 306,306A,306SA, and I think it list about 4 other saws. It does talk about the electronic ignitions some in it if you are interested let me know.

Could be, Mark. :)

Or not.

Either way, it's been good chatting with some of you here in the Poulan club. Hope to meet some of you in person at a GTG. Maybe I'll be wasting a vintage Poulan by daily use, or maybe I'll just buy one and put it on the shelf to adore. Either way, you fellas on AS are tops! :)

Well one thing for sure is, if you buy one with your own hard earned money, it will be yours to do with as you please. Good luck in finding what your looking for.
