I do not see anything in the second photo that is wrong. What I do see is that pipe sticking out from the muffler and I bet that baby is real loud.

that is the way they came from the factory, and they have a very nice sound:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:kind of like a big block ford or chevy breathing through dual 3 inch exhaust.

Yes, stock muffler, probably the coolest factory chainsaw muffler ever (well, at least asthetically speaking).

I have never listened to a sweeter sound.....well coming from a saw. They sound like a late 70's cr 125.

My 750 Kawi Triple sounds pretty cool going away from you twisting about 8500 :)

...BTW, did y'all see this Craftsman listed here by Johnnie?

Is anybody familiar with Craftsman model 358.357230? I did some quick searching, but wasn't able to find a manual/IPL. I'm thinking that the Craftsman 358.357230 would need a P&C specific to a Poulan 2300CVA, and the only one I have that might work is in my rear-handle Craftsman (Poulan 2400), and I want to keep the rear-handle saw complete.

Heya Chris - Here's the Sears link

Ted, thanks. I had found the Sears parts list, but was looking for the complete IPL/Manual to download (I'm nitpicky that way :msp_rolleyes:). I'll try searching again, or try to match some parts numbers using the Sears site info.

Jerry, thanks! PM to follow.

Chris, pm'd download link.

67, I downloaded it, & noticed that it didn't mention 357230, but did reference 357231, which might explain why I didn't locate it earlier. Thanks! Now I need to do some research (something tells me that I'm going to confirm my initial suspicions).

:msp_thumbup: Jerry, received & downloaded, thanks!

I would've sent a PM, but I'm about to run out of PM space. Can't rep you yet, need to spread it around.

Finished 295 rebuild.

This is a PP 295 I bought and probably put to much money back into it. But I had fun and it runs really well. New bearings and seals. New piston and ring. New oil pump. Drill and tap with new bolts for the engine mounting. New fuel line. Mild port on the exhaust and intake. Rounded the top edge of the transfers. Modified muffler with old shower curtain rod.
