I believe that paint is NLA. The nearest you can get is to find some 1970 Dodge SubLime Green paint. Problem is , its a two part paint so you will need a compressor and spray gun. Don't believe its available in a rattle can.

I found some paint in a rattle can that I consider a perfect match for the Sublime Green, posted it on AS and still we have people saying there's no match. I even included a picture of the can. It's available at Rural King and other places. I've done all I can do.

RUSTOLEUM KEY LIME 16oz spray can, not expensive, Rural King, I painted my 306 with it, can't tell if from my other 306 paint except it looks new.

That looks like a pretty good match to the older, duller pea-green that Poulan used on their saws. Might be a good bet for some early models, of say the 200/300/400 series of saws. Some of my 306's are that way, and later ones the brighter, darker Lime green. I don't have a Rural King anywhere close here, but can order that paint online from numerous places. Pretty cheap.

Gregg,

That picture of the can is not even close to the Key Lime I saw in the store. Home Depot carries it up here.

It is like the 34/37/4000 green. That photo is very washed out.

EDIT

It is a little more yellow than the green I have on my 3400. I will post a pic when I get the handle brace back on which had no paint on it.

First pic is the Key Lime on the handle brace. Second shot shows how much the paint faded over the years. See the diff on the clutch cover under what was left of the 3700 label compared to the exposed paint on the cover above it.
I think I'll paint the whole saw with the Key Lime sometime this summer.

Why do some saws , after sitting for a day or two, need 6-7 pulls to start while others need half that? I'm talking same model saws with rebuilt carbs. Will higher compression between saws make a differance? Seems like that might be one factor. Spark plug? Does amount of fuel in tank have an impact? How about the LO speed screw setting. Just trying to find out if one factor has more weight to the issue than another.
Food for thought.

Bob

I think it has to do with the fuel inlet needle not being seated and allowing the fuel to drain back down the line.
I know the 4200/5200s with the check valve in the filter will sit for days and fire in 1 or 2 pulls but the ones without the check valve don't seem to start like that.

I know this is probably a long shot but, Does anybody have a full wrap handle for a 5200 that they want to sell? Don't know if this is the place to be asking but I figure I'll get the best results. Thanks-Derek

That shot of your handle brace on your 3700 pretty much confirmed my suspicion that it is closer to the "old" Poulan green than it is the newer green.;)

Here are a couple pics comparing what I'm referring to.
Top is an older 306, bottom a newer one.

I don't have one, but the last I looked, the full wrap handle was still available from Poulan. Sure not cheap though.:msp_mad: Seems to me it was like $135 range. Last resort if ya can't find a used one I suppose.

Gregg,

Actually that's not bad.
I'd ask almost that for the one I've got.
Or maybe I'm just as goofy as Poulan is!

Gregg,

That's basically what I have...they must have upgraded the cans a little, mine's a little different but the same name. I think mine looks a little darker but it might just be the lighting.

Always thought I wanted a full wrap handle for my 5200, after seeing how good they looked on them saws Mark painted and restored. But, I have kinda come to the conclusion that I don't NEED one..LOL Looks like it would be in the way more, than a help. Especially since I don't cut BIG Timber with mine very often.:D:ices_rofl:

They are actually a PITA!
You have to be a magician to get the clutch cover off unless you cut and extend them.
They DO look cool though.

Yep, I have been saying its not a match! Still do.

Maybe your eye doctor can help with your color blind condition that your struggling with.

I have posted pictures before of the Mopar Sublime green and its as close as I have found too bad I have not found it in a rattle can yet though.

Arrowhead said that he had some 2 part paint mixed up in a Pioneer color and put in a rattle can though from some place in Kankakee IL. It was a one shot deal though, and you had to use it all at once.

Thank u rep sent and that's just my luck there expensive

Well really all bars have gotten pretty expensive, not just the K-041 mount bars.

Here is the best deal that I have seen right now. 20" OREGON CHAINSAW BAR {200GLGK041} FITS HOMELITE POULAN HUSQVARNA ECHO & MORE | eBay

The Pro Lites are about the best made in that mount now as well.

You can also use the small Husky K-095 mount bars with a slight modification and you can probably find a better selection as well.

That doesn't work too well on the 3300 and 3000 because the top of the oil slot is so thin.
Some bars work really well some not at all depending on how far you have to raise the slot!!!:msp_mad:
