A fella on another forum, who lives in GA, claims that his Stihl dealer can not get the MS200 in that region. Before I answer "BS-find another dealer" is it possible that this is true?:angry2:
Probably a BSing dealer that wanted to sell a stocked 192... but maybe not.
Here in NC, my bro-in law bought a 200 rear handle in maybe 99 or 00 (I was running my Snap-on route at the time) I helped him level off fence posts with it... didn't realize at the time what I was using. After several post-holes where I had to ride ballast on the 3pt auger boom, I didn't care a lot what I was cutting off level with.
I'd call around...

Why would you want to buy a 200 rear handled saw?
I figure if ya going rear handle another model perhaps?

That is true. Not all distributors carry the same product. I have been wanting the 192 rear handle and it is not available in Texas until September when they have been available elsewhere already.
Two of my local dealers would not even order one for me so I went to another dealer ,about 200 miles away, and got my ms200 rear handle.
Are you sure your bil bought a 200 non T back in 99/00? I do not believe they were out yet.

I agree. There is a reason that saw is hard to find. I'd go with a pro saw like the 260.
Pretty sure it was then... they had just built a house + barn, and (we) were fencing in the fields to keep their horsies. It for sure was a MS200, cause he bragged on it all the time. It MAY NOT have been as early as 99, but it was not much later than 00 or 01.
I wanted a light, powerful, well built limbing saw (for ground work) to balance out my package . This saw rips and at 10# w/14" B&C it's so well balanced you barely notice it. Pricey-yes, but I'll have it the rest of my life and for my needs - its perfect. If you can find one - run it; it'll follow you home.
I know you must not have boughten the 339 based on looks ; ).
How about this 200 rear handle, it might be a chore to do the limbing with all the extra weight though.
