Rocky J,

In today’s world, technology is constantly being upgraded. The 2 cycle mix of the last 20 yrs, even the last 10 yrs, has been upgraded. During the early 2000’s, a lot of lube oils upgraded from the solvent refined basestocks to the hydrocracked technology which provides pre-mix oil with less impurities. Even the Stihl orange bottle mix is a better quality oil than 10 yrs ago as a result of this technology.

However, the simple fact is that currently available synthetic 2 cycle mix oils have higher scores on the JASCO-FC low smoke test and the ISO-EGD exhaust port deposit blockage tests.

Your favorite 2 cycle oil mix may have provided you with years of dependable service, but in 2003/2004, higher technology alternatives are available & are not deserving of the term ”crap”.

Are you still viewing your Beta & VHS tapes & labeling DVD’s with a derogatory term?

Hi, Brian. First of all it's Lewis(English version, not the French), Ha, but that's OK. Second of all, I've used the Mobil Synthetic oils in all my vehicals and most of my toys, for years. I swear by the stuff. I would just like to try and use it in my chainsaws. But as you said, I'm not going to order it online and pay up the nose to get it, or drive stupid miles to get it. What really bothers me is the fact that for the size of the Mobil Oil company they don't have a better distribution of there products. I've looked for Echo and Stihl oil in stores, locally, no luck, and I can't drive 30 miles one way to the local Stihl shop to by their oils. I'm slowly losing my eyesight, am considered legally blind and can't drive. I've been using Quaker state-Dino oil and I'm about out of that, thank god, I've seen different off brands of semi-syn. ois in stores, but refuse to use them. I have use Poulan oils, in the ready to mix bottles. mixed them to the right ratio and my epuipment seens to run hotter, not as smooth, smokes like crazy and everything gets a nice coating of oil on it, that I get close to. It seems like a thinner oil compared to the Quaker state. I would just like to try the stuff, just can't seem to find a place here that sells it. I''m not trying to start some sort of oil war with you. But, it seems like you're afraid that I will actually like the MX2T oil. I probably will. Anyway if I can get the oil. I'll stick with it. My choice. I think I can make up my own mind and have my own opinoin. Thanks for the reply. Lewis.

shooter: Like your reply. It says what I've been trying to say.

Ben: All Kidding aside. not trying to create any hard feelings. Let Rocky, aka, Brian. keep his saws, I've noticed that there are a lot of posts on this site about Stihl saws. Looks like a beast that has their own quirks and problems. Doesn't look like they improving much with the EPA laws, being stuffed down their throats. Hopefully 2004, will bring out some improvements. My brother owns an 08 super and it still does all his wood cutting for him. He takes ti to the dealer every second year for a tune up, keeps the chain sharp and he does all right by it. It was a saw that my father last had on the farm and it's still going. OK, Everyone take care and Happy New Year to all. Lewis.

different strokes for different folks. whats a dvd ? some kind of social disease? did you know that having youre picture taken will steal youre soul? synthetic means fake right?

I got 6 pints for the grand total of $15.00..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=34284&item=2450190347
I have used Stihl oil in the past with NO problems. However, the oxygenated gas in this area is, I believe, responsible for the rash of scorched pistons I'm seeing at my side job (2 cycle tech at local power equipment shop) . Until someone proves me wrong on this I'm not running anything on 50:1 anymore and if the synthetic will keep the motors clean at 32 or 40 to one then I'm all for it

Syn. oils:

Any body, read up on amsoil, lately. Was surfing the web on oils and came across their Amsoil 100/1 mix. Any body willing to mix at this ratio? Ha, they claim you can run it in everything. If you read on a bit they do suggest that if you have older equipment fo use a 50/1 mix. or mix at what the manufacturer requires and their oils are garrenteed to work. I can see someone using it at a 100/1 mix, ruin their equipment and blaming the equipment manufacturer.

Sedanman, in my old equipement I plan to use 32/1 mix. and the newer equipment I plan to use a 40/1 mix. I feel confident that all will work fine, at those ratios, using the MX2T Mobil Oil.
