Oil mix ratios

Good Day to Everyone,

I have a 2.6oz/77mL bottle of Husqvarna XP 50:1, 2-cycle oil. I am wondering how much less gasoline I would need to create a 40:1 mix instead of the 50:1?

Use .8 gallons. I do it all the time for setting up new saws. The EPA would like you to use 50:1. They don't care how long your saws last, just that you don't choke the starlings.

I have been using Amsoil Interceptor at 32:1 in older saws like the 306A, P26 etc. and in new saws like 371XP and 357XP. They seem to run just as good and there isn't any more smoke than Husky/Castrol/QS oil at 50:1. Maybe even a bit less smoke.
