i,ve got a new ms 210 and have been very happy with it and it,s just handy for my log burner wood however, it is,nt oiling the chain like i think it should.if i run it with out the bar on, the amount of oil it delivers seems fine but after i,ve been cutting for about ten minutes and check, the chain is dry. any ideas or modifications i can do. regards, Ned.

You might want to take it back to your dealer if new... just to check... but before you do that, make sure your oil hole in the bar is clear. Also, try a slightly ligther weight oil.

the oil hole in the bar is clear. i was thinking of using a larger size drill in the oil hole just to give the hole a taper start which could help channel the oil into the bar hole?. would it be ok to say mix the chain oil with 15/30 engine oil on a 50/50 ratio and try that first?

No drilling - they (the other 100,000 021-> 025's out there) work fine. Don't bother with multigrade, just thin out with a small amount of kerosene or whatever.

Does your bar/chain just look dry, or is it binding, getting tight,or burning? The 021 is not a gusher, and you really don't need much oil on a bar for it to work fine.
