I would prefer globally sourced components than proprietary components any day. The prices are much cheaper.
I have to agree, and add the cheaper machines have come a long way in the past 10 odd years. For most of us that arnt using them day in and day out they work just fine, and parts arnt an issue to get.

She doesn't mind it so far lol. My son sat and watched it run fir the better part of an hour tonight. He thought it was great. I may have to get a few other model engines for him now.
Haven't forgotten my anniversary.. yet. It's in August. Plenty of time to forget till then lol.
Was thinking of you last night. The family went to our county skills center as my boy is looking into classes there. While in the precision machining class I saw a small air powered model engine and showed it to the boy, pretty cool.
Don't worry, from time to time I'll send you thoughtful ideas so you don't forget.
Here's one; I normally deliver flower or plants, but today it was eggs. Heard they are going up like gold, maybe you could buy her a couple dozen, then let her know how much you enjoy her cooking. Follow me for more tips ;).
Last stop.

Nice strapping. Considering the million dollar load I would have used another one. Lol. I always preferred roof to floor rails instead of nose to tail.

Thanks. There were the locking style bars on it(e-track), when I picked it up, but what's that do on a load with an odd pallet count. I just toss a strap on to hold it from tipping sideways when turning, not that they do, but you know they'd be pissed if I had something tip over. Good thing is it only takes a minute to put it up and take it down, I try to do everything I can to get out of the truck as quick as possible, it ain't my home!
Also, there was only one strap in the trailer, it was a long way to the truck to grab one of mine lol.

Those odd pallet loads are weird to secure with those type of rails. I always brought the strap up over the corner then down and cranked with another the opposite way but you sure can't do that with eggs. Straps best you can and easy corners!

Another Johnny with old Chebbys ... but that one is a little newer than my friend Johnnys Chebbys!

69 Chevelle, 69 Camaro, 67 Vette. All have big blocks, 454 or larger. The Vette has the original Tri Power from the factory 427.

You make that delivery?

My logging buddy swung by tonight. Had to fix one of his saws, and figure out where his truck was leaking brake fluid. He forgot the new brake handle for his saw. So he ran back to his place and came back with the part and this little model engine. All we know about it is it was locally made, and supposed to be 1/4 hp. Anyone know anything about it? He said you burn kerosene in the wick pot, it's a pain to get started but will run all day one it's running. Says crafted by m m stauffer 1981 on the base plate. I started cleaning it up before he left. I'm super excited to have it. Really want to run it, but wanted to see if the infinite wisdom of my scrouge buddies can tell me any info on it?
I recall seeing ads for engines like that when I was a kid… steam engines too. One of those and a big erector set was one of my fantasy gifts… I ended up with a smallish erector set and a battery powered motor. Still had fun!

Yes, there's a pully to run a belt on it opposite the flywheel. I'm assuming it had a purpose at some point, you can see some wear in the groove like a belt was running in it.
I'm having a really hard time figuring out what type of engine it is, it doesn't seem to fit into any one class. There's no carb, no govenor, no hot/glow tube. You light the wick, and slide it under the tin shield, and it's supposed to run after you give it a spin. I'm leaning more towards an odd ball hot air/ stirling engine, but I can see the cylinder is full of soot/ carbon so I'm sure it's some sort of "internal" combustion engine.
Have to create some kind of splitter for making “firewood” for a table top fire pit and power it with this engine… straight grain green oak ?? Everyone needs a hobby!

WOW! So many great avenues to collect firewood. A cord of seasoned where I am in NYState-USA is about $275 delivered = OUCH!

I take my 4x8 trailer and load up on the side of less traveled desolate roads. Not always the best firewood is low-hanging but at least I have the chance to be somewhat picky. Using a saw that I rebuilt is priceless. Always wear eye protection etc
There are guys around here getting $400 / cord. I stopped by to see the tree service guy I posted about some months ago. He had 6 guys running 3 log splitters and an another on a skid steer mounted splitter breaking down the big rounds. Another guy was cutting rounds. They had split about 32 cord in under 2 days… at $400/cord. The owner figured they had another day or two to clean up the logs in his yard. This is as much a “keep the guys busy” thing as it is for revenue. They do it between his state and municipal contracts… fills in with big private jobs too. He said they have these split sessions regularly… nice way to get rid of waste!
