View attachment 309349My 4000 has become the workhorse when it comes time to cut firewood. Absolutely screams thru pretty much anything. The most dependable saw I have. Thanks to Mark for all the carb suggestions. My only complaint is the air filter. Been through new screen filters and gaskets but they just don't seem to make a seal. Always find some sawdust in the intake to the carb

Some people put a small amount of silicone sealer around the edges to get a better seal. Mine have always seemed to seal pretty well though.

whats the longest bar you would run on the 4200 for the occasional large tree? with skip chain of course! I have a 30" trunk I need to chop up now.

Cool, I have a 32" waiting for a companion!

Just take your time (it won't be NEARLY as long as you might think!) and let the saw do the work at its own pace.
Have a couple of good men there to keep the rounds out of the way. Don't worry, they will stay busy!!!

I was working on several trees just this past week in that size range. Oak & Ash, and a little bigger. I use a 4200 & 5200 for such things. :) I usually keep a 24" on the 4200, but have used a 28" with no problem. I use full comp chain also. Never tried skip, but I'm sure that would work well too.

Thats the joy of having several of these saws, can keep different size bars on them for whatever you might get into. :) The low end non-stop power of that 69cc saw will surprise ya.

Gregg,

I have the fly side, need the clutch side. Did not think it made too much since replacing one and not the other so I'll wait and keep looking.

Put it this way. I checked mine and the fly side leaked the clutch side wasnt. So I put a fly side in and the saw has been cutting since last year or year before.
In the mean time the saw is getting used and I keep my eye out for a clutch side for when needed. If not I will just use a 425 445 505 crankcase some day for a rebuild. Till then the 475 cuts on. :msp_wink:
