We have a 3400 Counter Vibe my father bought new in 1980. That thing has cut A LOT of wood!! It still runs like a dream. When someone says "chainsaw", that's the saw I picture. I wish Poulan still made quality like that.

Needing to replace crank seals but can't seem to find them. Also wouldn't mind having another 475 or a 505 someday.

I have the fly side, need the clutch side. Did not think it made too much since replacing one and not the other so I'll wait and keep looking.

Some of my 4200/5200 series saws, these are just the ones I have picked up in the past year.

If the saw says "Counter Vibe" on the side.....there is a very good chance it is still someone's "go to" saw!!!

Man, that is pretty freakin' impressive!

By the way, did I mention that,..................................."you suck"?

I have a 4200, 4400 and 5200 here in Kentucky that aren't pictured plus another Dayton branded 5200, a couple of more 5200's and an 8500 in Virginia that I will bring back in September.

I think it would be prudent for you to remember that, "nobody likes a show off".................LOL!!!!

It had been sitting there since 97'! all the rubber was shot but new crank seals, gaskets, fuel line and carb kit and good to go!

4000

View attachment 309349My 4000 has become the workhorse when it comes time to cut firewood. Absolutely screams thru pretty much anything. The most dependable saw I have. Thanks to Mark for all the carb suggestions. My only complaint is the air filter. Been through new screen filters and gaskets but they just don't seem to make a seal. Always find some sawdust in the intake to the carb

Don't worry about that bull crap!!!
I can assure you that it has been doing that all its life and it is still running strong.
Too many here make a huge issue out of a few "fines" in the intake and it just isn't anything to worry about.
Anything that can get past the filter will just go right on through the engine.
I've seen 3400s that have been run for YEARS with no filter at all and they still ran like new.

I cut a lot of punky stuff for firewood and should not be seeing oily sawdust past the air filter. Just wondering. Besides the air filter thing she cuts like a dream!

I don't think I've found a 3400 yet that's come in with a filter!
