Have a few questions. Location is a subdivision with no houses. Trees are spread out over a fairly large area. Approx 25 trees fell or snapped off during hurrican isaac two weeks ago. Trees range in size from 20ft to 60+ft in length. Trees are entagled pretty good in some spots. Property owner wants all the downed trees cut up and hauled to back of the subdivision for latter disposal. Also has approx 10-15 standing trees he wants cut down also. This could lead to year round work with this developer. Equipment i have to move debris is skidsteer with grapple, tractor with fel, my crew. This is my first time pricing so many trees at one time. How would you vets go about this? Pics included.

how much does it cost to operate your skid/crew per day multiply by number of days add profit and unexpecteds... you can do a lot with a skid steer in a day so maybe that job will only take you 2 days maybe 3?? what do you think it will take how small of pieces does he want the stuff cut into? do you have to do a "full clean up"?

i agree with the daily rate or maybe an hourly rate. my guess it closer to a week. and what exactly needs to be done? limbs cleaned up? how big are the piece you are leaving "for later disposal?" year round work sounds like a good thing

Looks like 1 long day to total clean up . 4 man crew , skid steer w/grapple bucket , 18" chipper and log truck . $3500.00 But i'm not down there so I can't see it all.

throw em, cut to length and dump... chipper great. no? pile logs on brush for a 4k job in one day. baby trees. bust ass.

Property owner wants all debris cleaned up so area can be mowed and logs cut to about 10ft lengths for easier disposal later.

If you are skidding it too the back for later removal, what kind of removal are we talking? Do they plan on hauling it having it mulched then bringing it back? Burning it etc.

Personally if they are not going to mulch it I would sell them on cost effective measures. Cut and make a couple piles in place then light it. They can over seed any turf after it is done and it would be cheaper on their pocket book. Of course that is if you can burn.

Just my two cents.
