Fish, I would never dig up dirt. Not only am I a sensitive individual, I am pure as the driven snow and would never create disention amongst the ranks. I guess I am just having withdrawal symptoms cause I couldnt go to Clearwater, but I smell timber, as in Fur fer sure. So stay tuned, cause some big wood is gonna bite the top soil, cause I got me a bush, North, East, South and West.
Which way to the Beech?

You are trouble with a capital L!

The Lawn and Garden Expo will be held down here this fall, and I will contact some people and see if this can be a happenning
chainsaw event, and some of you crazies might show up, as
Stihl, and Echo, and Shindaiwa will return this year to the
event.
You guys send me some names in the industry, so I can run the
thoughts by them, as this could be made into something fun.
Arborist site should participate with a booth and display,
to introduce their prescence to the saw/Lawn and Garden
world.
It is held in Louisville this fall. They used to have big saw
demos, that may be revived this year, but I do not know.
But the exposure is a sure thing.
Can we not set up an arboristsite booth? Monies to
sponser this can be raised! We need to step out as an entity
in the saw industry, so they know our merry band exists.

With an outdoor booth, and some hotsaw people, as well
as Art Martin and his minions, it would become quickly the
centerpiece of the Expo. It would be good for everyone involved,
and make Arboristsite immediately recognized as a voice and
a player in the industry.
Just a thought.

i just talked to a stihl dealer that runs one of the stock saw events i attend. he is also upset with stihl. they are trying to cut him loose because he did not sell as much stihl equipment as they wish. he laid into they pretty good.
his father started with stihl how many years ago and was the only one in the area. they are the ones that let other dealers in the area close to him. they pretty much set the limits on pricing. how infrequently the reps. come around. minimum assistance in advertising at the show. he told them good but with no effect.
i am seeing the differance myself and trying to to stay loyal like the rest are but it is getting tough. marty

Tell me it's after my kids go back to school so I can come play, too.

The best part is if Fish represents the site I am sure it will be the first and last time Arboristsite will be invited. Fish if you give them your best demeanor they should have you figured out in 5 minutes and give you the CKY toss.

I, like Kenabcd, am the proud owner of a gypoized stihl saw (088).
And like Kenabcd I can't figure out how the man can let them go that far below what dealers charge here in the states. Regardless, I am a satisfied customer. In addition to selling me a great saw at a great price, John mentioned AS in his ebay ad. I followed the link and have been enlightened, educated and entertained as a result. There is a lot of knowledge here on this site. The fact that you need hip waders to harvest it just makes it more fun.......

It is time for us to be noticed by the saw manufacturers,
as this site represents a wide cross section of their customer
base. Just a thought.
I have no desire to represent any entity, but would think that
this site should at least make an appearance in some form or
another.
Lawnsite has a few bigger named sponsers, and they would be
more likely to have a prescence there, but I do not know.
But this site has grown considerably, so the more exposure, the
better.

Fish you have an excellent point! Good idea. Now if we could just get the right people in the same state of mind as we are we could really get the ball rolling and maybe even change the whole complexion of the industry..........Wade

acne?

Hey!
My complexion cleared up years ago, don't be messin" with it.

Malcom solves his problems with a chainsaw, and he never has the same problem twice.

That was good, Tony.

Here's a little something I got greeted with when I opened a terminal window recently:

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling
by Mark Twain

For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and Iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.

Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.

Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld.
