Assuming they aren't <i>cleaner</i> than the XP stuff (whatever that encompasses)...&nbsp; Too many assumptions.

One thing's for sure; whatever Stihl brings to market, their weight ratings will be unambiguous and honest.

What we need is an emmissions test to see which one is cleaner. Now. how do I hook up a tailpipe sniffer on a dual port muffler?????

Stihltech, You can do a simple back yard emmmisions test by sticking your finger around the exhaust outlet. With my stihl saws this area is always slightly oily and wet depending on what sort of wood/load I am using the saw on. With my Husky's, Dolmar 7900 and redmax blower the muffler outlet is bone dry with no resdidue. When one looks at Stihl cylinders(at least the 036, 044 and 026 that I have looked at) its apparent why Stihls produce more emmisions and do not perform as well as Husky's in gerneral.
As for the weight thing. Just because Stihl has been honest about their saws weight doesnt mean they will continue to do so. When in Rome do as the Romans type deal.
