Yeah, Aluminum and magnesium is going up. The Chinese are buying all they can for the New Stihl plant being built there. ;)

I heard the plant hasn't gotten its operating permits yet...it appears the neighbors are complaining about all the vibrations coming from it...

Plus the government won't certify it because it emits too much air pollution.

Yeah, apparently the smokestack scrubbers keep plugging up...

Don't know anything about hot rodded 357's but I do know first hand a stock 361 and a stock 357 run close, so close its not worth talking about. I ran em both a month or so ago and though I like the 361 better, feels more solid, the 357 was right there as well. Both run good, real good. I was expecting more out of the 357 from all I read about it but it ran good none the least...

If you tried putting them in larger wood, the 361 would surely win, in smaller wood I believe they are pretty even....;)

Just by what I've read about it, thats all. You haven't heard me knock it one bit, high speed rpm's is fine, got no bones with that but I come from the other camp and as Clearance pointed out this camp is torquey...

I wouldn't know Sawtroll, they both hummed right along real good. I've never been one to measure a saws quality or worth by a race in the wood. Give me years of trouble free performance and I'll give it the thumbs up no matter the brand. The 361 has for certain met the thumbs up on trouble free performance, ,most anyone will agree on that, its a work horse...

Hehehe, that factory is going to supply only the billion people that live there, bet ole Sweden would love to get its choppers on those sales, hehehe

Last time I looked they were breaking ground and sizing up the hole they are going to bury the competition in,

What's the word on which Chinese company owns the other 51% of that factory...will Stihl be able to live with their "input?"

Soooo.... Stan_1966... er, Stihl_441.... er, whatever....

How long is it gonna take you to want your user name changed again. :help:

Don't forget to "break in" the saw when you get it at 16:1...

...and run canola oil in it too...

I don't really care either, for what I do, but just for fun.......:givebeer:

Thats news to me ole boy but I can tell ya this. That factory deal there with a billion people to supply should keep that thing running 24/7. Many turn their nose up at the idea of a Stihl factory there but if demand is there, or anywhere else in this world, you can rest assured of one thing, Stihl will be there. Its a go getter company. People still look at Stihl as in its hey day of years past but fact is Stihl right now is more popular worldwide than ever before due to their going after the markets with huge investments worldwide. Can't fault a company that stays on the move.

Hey Red, Not trying to pick a fight but I have seen and used a 346. I think there is some thing wrong with your saw. I have used a 346 with a Low pro bar and chain that that saw would go through a two inch branch like a hot knive through butter. Not modded
I think that anybody that has a 346 and wants to improve on it go to a low pro bar and chain first.
BTW Stihl has never made any claims that they have a saw that can out cut a 346 in that cc size. and stock class for you mod junkies.

You aren't picking a fight at all Mike, I think, as well something is wrong.
PM you're addy and I will pay shipping, and time, both ways! Made the same offer to Ben Walker, no love there I guess.
Fix it, impress me, please!!!!

I'm really starting to hate my 346.:taped:

Probably because Timerchic have "adopted" it, so he can't use it anymore.....:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Soooooooooooooo.....I'll be the first to ask:

"HOW MUCH"

:taped:
:ices_rofl:

My biggest flaw with it has been the ground wire that is attatched to the on and off switch...It keeps coming off on both saws and I end up having to choke it to turn it off...I haven't figured out a way yet to keep that wire attatched....and as soon as I re-connect it,it comes right back off...But I do love the way it cuts..
