I rent demo saws for just such applications, The saw I rented & will be for an uproot that is still attahed is the fire mans access saw...the thing cuts through nails, roof material, metal, pipe, wood, block, terracota...etc... rental is only $75.00 for the day!

you mean the type with the big diamond blades? I've used them on demo jobs before and always wondered how they would go on roots. My guess was slow, and a bit messy if you use the water hose attachment but no damage to blade. The other thing with them was most only went through maybe 7"~8" before you ran out of blade. What's your experience been like with these?
