anyone have or use one? we put a deposit on one today.there are a couple of other brands i am familiar with but dealers are not local enough.the firebox seems kind of small on all of them so we picked the biggest model.

My parents have a Pacific Energy, I think it is the model you have bought. It burns well. They have had no problems. They run it 24/7 during the heating season. With large pieces of oak it goes all night. Prior to the Pacific Energy they had a 1970's era Vermont Castings stove. Their wood consumption has gone down.

thanks for the update.

it won't be installed until June 10th.

i'm going back to look at free standing options.i just ain't crazy about having to use electricity and the blower.i could buy a generator but i don't want to depend on this new crap gas and the carb being gummed up.

i also read the catalog a little more.the baffles are stainless steel.not crazy about that either.it's known to crack from cool down.

Hornett,
I wanted the Pacific Energy Summit insert model, but it wouldn't fix in my fireplace--too big. So I had to get the next size down. Had it for two seasons now. I burned more with it this year and figured that I saved 500 gallons of oil. At $4.25 a gallon, do the math, that thing has paid for itself. Don't worry about anything failing, the baffles and most other parts have a lifetime warranty. Buy it and don't worry.
