The mounting is standard as in all 55 65 and 70cc if you want to insert a photo

Yes, working on recoils is a real joy. If you give up, I probably have an extra one you can have for the cost of shipping. Also have a bunch of Partner clutch covers and top covers if anybody needs one.

What toaster is this muffler made of? There is no exhaust outlet at the bottom

I just picked this up today along with a bunch of others saws and know next to nothing about Partner chainsaws. It actually seems to be in pretty good condition except the right rubber handlebar rubber mount is a bit worn.

I also came across this which from I read is the company that first made pioneer chainsaws? I surely can't find much information on them.

Just replace a broken recoil spring and having trouble as the spring will not rewind as it's supposed to. The replacement looks perfect but must be slightly different as it is binding. Very hard to photograph.
I bought this F55 in pretty bad shape. Replaced the rings with Cabers and rebuilt the carb. Haven't run it much as just after the recoil spring broke. Have a replacement on the way. Using the recoil from my P65 saw fires up but runs very fast then just quits. I may have the metering lever set too hi. Also with the new rings only getting about 95 psi comp but I guess rings have not bedded in yet. I will replace the fuel line and filter to eliminate that possiblilty.

Rubber shock absorbers also have their years, and if someone does not start the saws on the ground, they break even faster

Lee, that recoil is on the way. Just mailed it today. I used the USPS, which was probably a mistake. I couldn't find a spike for you, apparently they all got stripped out already. That's a shame on that 95 psi. I haven't looked lately, but they did have new aftermarket jugs on fleabay for less that 50 bucks. Hope you get figured out.

No worries on the spike. Please let me know the postage.
