Been working on an S50 Partner that I've had for a while. I put a new coil on it some years ago and had it running. After that, I bought a new bar and chain, installed them and couldn't get it started. Set it aside for a while again. When I first worked on it, I vaguely remember having trouble with the throttle linkage where it meets the trigger and doing something to get it to stay connected. Been long enough I don't remember. It came loose again when I pulled the carb to rebuild and can't remember what I did. It looks different that the pics of the S55 and bigger saws. The throttle trigger has a smooth dowel pin pressed in it, extending a bit out of both sides. The linkage from the carb has a bent oval loop on the trigger end where the minor dimension is about twice the diameter of the dowel pin. I need to know if and what is missing and which side of the pin on the trigger it should be installed on. Maybe it just need a retainer as on the carb end? But maybe a little larger. Thanks in advance for any held you can offer. John

IIRC,
there is a push nut that retains the linkage to the throttle arm on the carb.

also...
I needed to bend to extend the throttle linkage/wire to achieve WOT.

Another mod was to knead some jbweld putty and place on the trigger so as to extend below grip at WOT. Something about the ergonomics would allow partial throttle w/out intent.

Clear?
