I did a search, but pretty much every thing I found was for the vintage stuff. My buddy that I usually cut with has a newer 300 Classic that has a broken bar bolt. We got the broken bolt out (had to remove the muffler), but haven't been able to find a local source for a new bolt. Can anybody point us to a good source for new parts for this saw?
Thanks!

Any saw shop that deals with Stens or Total(Tiltons). I have acquired a few parts for the newer Homelite saws from those distributors.

I will edit this to add that those saws are fairly availible as parts machines and you might post your wants in the Trading Post forum.

Unfortunately, we don't actually have a "saw shop" around here. The closest thing is the tractor dealer up the road that handles Stihl, and a small engine shop in town that does Mac's. We have a small engine parts warehouse locally that I get most of my parts thru, but they don't have bar studs for anything (tho they DO have the nuts), and they don't handle Stens (they have their own brand). And most of the small engine shops around here also get their parts from them, so...........................
As far as the Trading Post, unless I mis-read the rules there, I don't have a high enough post-count to post a wanted request.

homelite.com. Look under parts. it lets you select the saw you have, gives an illustrated parts breakdown (IPB) and then you hit the quantity you want, pay for it with a credit card and wait 3 days. Part comes in, you change it and are good to go!!!!

OH if it was just that easy:( I would be a happy guy. Not quite.

Well Bill G, I just found the part he needs. Took me all of 5 seconds to type the number 300 in the search block on the homelite website. Click on housing and voila, there's the bolt right there. Look around before criticizing someone for helping out. Your apology is accepted

Actually, I left Huntingdon Valley to move over here!!!!! I am originally from Western New York, Uncle Sam brought me down here. Oh to be in Montgomery County again.

Well I am not sure what I would need to appoligize for. As for "Voila" (not sure that is right) here are a few part numbers. Homelite parts are not all that easy to find hence the post I made. I wish it was that easy. Please let me know what you find out. Here are a fraction of the parts needed.

Bill

Bill, sorry about the reply. I didn't appreciate the reply you made. It sounded like you had an attitude. You need the model of chainsaw you have then you can look up the parts on their website by that specific model. I don't think you can use their own part numbers to find the part you need. Try looking up your parts by chainsaw model number. I haven't had any problems doing it that way. When you find the part you need, you can change the quantity to 1 or 2 or 8000, whatever you need and add it to your basket. Keep shopping until you get everything you need and pay for the parts.
Raisedbywolves, thanks. What did I do to upset you? Why are you so mad at me? I helped the guy find parts and I get this? Thanks.

Attitide ? No just the simple fact that it is not that easy finding Homelite parts. Yes there are still some of the newer parts around but the vast majority of Homelite parts are long gone. The point I made was I wish it was easy as just typing. The truth is it is not that easy. Yes there are some parts left around for the last consumer models but that is it. You ask for a model number try XP1000, XP1020, 1050, 1100, 2000, 2100, and 3100. Let me know what you find.

Bill

I agree with you Bill, but he is looking for newer model parts. I'm sure the same goes with ANY saw manufacturer. I'd be willing to bet that I can't get new parts for any saw that has been discontinued for 30 plus years.

Kinda wishing I'd never started this thread now...............
As it turns out, my buddy works for Deere (farm equipment side), and since we know that Deere owned Homelite for a while, he tried to order the parts thru the parts counter there. They couldn't get anything thru Deere's parts, but they do have sources for parts for other brands (for the mower shop). They tried to get the bolts and nuts thru a Homelite dealer they get parts from, but they claimed those where NLA. So I decided to go thru the Homelite site that was mentioned above and just put them on my check card for him. Well, that was a joke! Has anybody actually ordered parts thru there lately? I can find the part and #, but if I try to add it to my "cart", I just get an ugly error message. looks like they run their website about as well as they do their business!

There is a pretty good chance I have the bolt you need. I will need to do a bit of research so it would be as easy as a few mouse clicks but I will see what I can do. If the Homelite website works out thats great, if not give me a call and I will see what I can do.

Bill

The Homelite part number should be 03132. Another alternative would be to take the other bolt to Fastenall. They may be able to come close. I will keep digging. If you need the IPL let me know.

Bill

Yep, that's the same # I came up with too. I finally did get the "shopping cart" link on the site to work, however it says that they are NLA & none are in stock. Looks like I just have to hope you or someone else here can help us out.
I'm really disappointed with Homelite's parts support. This saw is not that old!
