Yep, that's the same # I came up with too. I finally did get the "shopping cart" link on the site to work, however it says that they are NLA & none are in stock. Looks like I just have to hope you or someone else here can help us out.
I'm really disappointed with Homelite's parts support. This saw is not that old!

Well that is the point I was trying to make when I said

"OH if it was just that easy I would be a happy guy. Not quite."

I appears that comment was taken differently by some but the point was that Homelite parts are not all that easy to find. As for the part you need it should be around somewhere. I will see what I can do to help you out.

My goodness. I guess this isn't a good site for me to stay at. I really appreciate the way you get treated for trying to help out here. For the record, I was only trying to help. Thanks guys. I'll be gone now.

That is what the site is about; help. All of us help each other. I am not sure how you think you were treated badly. In reviewing the post I am at a loss.

When exactly were you treated badly ?

Bill, it wasn't by you. It was Raisedbywolves. He offered no help, he only stopped in to flame me as I tried to help. We've all been wrong before, but should I make it a point to look for this guys threads to flame him? It's not how I would have treated him, I guess I didn't expect that kind of treatment here. It is what it is.

Happy belated Veterans day to all the Veterans here!!!!

OK, Look juniour, when someone rolls in here and immediatly starts acting like an ass and insulting one of the sites most respected members like you have here.......

Well Bill G, I just found the part he needs. Took me all of 5 seconds to type the number 300 in the search block on the homelite website. Click on housing and voila, there's the bolt right there. Look around before criticizing someone for helping out. Your apology is accepted

You are not going to get, nor do you deserve anyones respect and you certainly WILL be given a hard time.:hmm3grin2orange:

Lol, nice try, but actually it was neither Bill or RBW, It was you! that initiated it.

Your a newb, you misunderstood Bill G's post and you spouted off. RBW threw a few mild digs at you, big deal. You earned them. Now get over it and play nice :biggrinbounce2:

It's over. I tried to help and lost. I won't let it happen again. I'm most certain Bill can and did stand up for himself and I appologized. Why are you running in to help RBW? I think he did a good job on his own. RBW if you still have a bone to pick with me you need to air it so we can get it taken care.
trimmed, yes I am a newbie, if you noticed earlier in the thread I appologized to Bill. Whay are you jumping in in his defense? If everyone would just let it go and not hold a grudge this thread would be gone in a day. Like I said, it's over.

Well actually it not quite over as the post was a rquest for parts. I am still looking around here but have not had much luck. It looks like a fairly common bolt/cap screw. I will see what I can do but I think your best bet is a bolt from a bolt supplier.

Not to stir the pot, but at that homelite site, I typed in just the model number of his saw, not classic and it seems that all of the parts are available. I may have done something wrong. It shows different part number than the one you guys came up with as well. Like I said, I may have done something wrong, but it looks like what he needs.

Not to start yet another argument in this thread........
I don't know what you found, but I looked it up by the UT # (UT-10687E), and that was the part # it showed, and when I tried to put it in my cart, it said: NLA and none in stock. As I said before, I just hope Bill or someone else here can find me one. This is a rather special shoulder bolt, and I seriously doubt that I will be able to find anything else that will work. It is about 2" OAL, with a 3/8 UNC thread, the shoulder is about an 1" long and just under 1/2" diameter. The head is an offset rectangle. The only shoulder bolts I've found so far with 1/2" shanks are in 3/8" thread. which won't fit thru the clutch cover, and even assuming I could find a shoulder bolt with the right size shank and thread, it won't be a hardened bolt, which is really what is needed for this application.
It's really frustrating to think that an otherwise perfectly good saw that's only a few years old might now be junk, just because of a simple broken bolt that the manufacturer doesn't see fit to stock anymore!!!!!!!

I hate to bring up old posts that have died but As I stated earlier I truly believe this site is and should be based on help. I try to help when I can and many times that takes time and more than a few mouse clicks. In any event I do have the parts needed by Indiana John. Hopefully he will see this thread.

Bill
