I like the looks and design features of this climbing helmet, but it's around $300. I want to know if anyone in here has given it a go. Anything you can tell me about it, based on your experience with it, is greatly appreciated. Three bills is pretty steep, so I don't want to throw my money away on anything that's lacking. Thanks.

I haven't tried it. They're $350 in aus for the arborist model, or $300 for the forestry model. I can't work out what the difference is. Even if they were brilliant I still don't think I could bring myself to wear it. Could see them being big in europe though, with the matching jackets, pants, gloves etc. All they need now is a decal kit for saws to match :dizzy:

The thing looks like it would be hot. Plus that fully encapsulated rear looks like it would only fit a very limited range of head shapes. I have a big head which stores my big brain full of information, so I don't have much luck with the harnesses on some helmets. On the kask for example, I have to remove the nylon strap/rear harness part and just use a plain old chin strap.

The only thing about the protos that appeals to me is the mesh visor which looks very practical. The rest - shape, color, muffs that tuck in, neck guard, fully encapsulated rear etc etc... isn't really my cup of tea.

I think they look kinda goofy.
Even if they were a lot less $$$ I still wouldn't want one.
